I don't doubt Kanjorski benefitted from Obama's campaign. But just like Bush, Barletta's disregard for thoughtfulness and thoroughness will bankrupt his city. The only ones who'll come out winning are organizations he's paying to represent a pretty poorly written ordinance. We had to bailout walstreet after they messed up, Hazleton will have to pay FAIR after they provided the ordinance that's being challenged. I guess that's how the new republicans work.

Big disappointment. We need many more defenders of America's borders and sovereignty in government. I hope Mayor Barletta will run again for Congress in two years after the open-borders Dems have run amok for a while.

If Mr. Marletta had any class at all he would just go quietly into the night.

That's right "dana" dear; Hazleton, PA has a border problem; "Mayor Barletta" --- that native American!

“I am right.”

From what I observed at the polls, this election included a multitude of voters who had no idea of who/what they were voting for, other than the "rock star" who headed the ticket.
We demand people take a test before granting them a driver's license; we should also do the same before we allow someone to vote.
I find it hard to believe that any intelligent, honest person would re-elect a candidate who was proven to spend tax dollars on personal gain and is more interested in serving special interests Vs working in the best interests of his constituents.
Kanjorski represents all that is wrong with D.C. and is the poster boy for term limits. Barletta, in my opinion, is too noble a man to mingle with the corrupt and tainted politicians who dirty the halls of Congress. Barletta will be more comfortable in Congress once we clean out the sewer we have allowed it to become.

Chantal:

Please clarify!--- Are you calling Paul Kanjorski or

Tom Barletta a rock star?
Be careful --- you're darn close to flunking your own test.

I'd like to see him run against either of our idiotic Senators. The Senate, worst in US history, is the gov. body most in need of a facelift.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt: "We have nothing to fear but fear itself... and that silly paranoid-thinking Tom Barletta when he becomes the mayor of Hazleton, Pennsylvania."

Bob Dylan: "I am liberal but only to a degree and I want everybody to be free... except maybe Napolean Bonaparte, Ronald Reagan, Richard Milhous Nixon, Tom Barletta, Saddam Hussein, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Tom Barletta, Osama bin Laden, Nero, Sarah Palin, Tom Barletta."

Jesus: "Peace be with you."

Mike Pelepko: "Peace be with you."

For those of you who support open borders and illegal immigration, I believe you must be living with your heads in the sand. Mayor Barletta has tried to do what should have been done long ago by our failed do-nothing government: enforce the immigration laws of this nation. Perhaps you enjoy paying your taxes to provide free healthcare and education for the children of those who have broken our laws. Our crime rates have risen, Mexican Army vehicles and soldiers continue to cross our border, often in support of Mexican drug smugglers. Illegals attend our colleges on in-state tuition rates when our American citizens are not given the same privilege. Our unemployment rate continues to rise because illegals are filling jobs for below-minimum wages, and Americans who would do anything to earn some wage at all are not given the chance. This is a nation of laws, the purpose of which is to promote an orderly and safe society. Without laws, there is anarchy, and anarchy is chaos. You should be very fearful of our new president's amnesty plan for illegals. Our taxes will have to be raised to support their impact on our social services, and the tide of illegals invading our nation will increase. Social Security and Medicare are in dire trouble, yet there will be millions more at the trough. We cannot afford the extra burden on our fragile economic crisis. Open your eyes and look around; this is the real world, and you live in it.

The real blame for Barletta losing is the state GOP; those nimrods didn't do beans to support any of the candidates running for Congress.

I can only hope that after this fiasco of an election, the Republicans send their liberal leadership packing with directions to the nearest DNC office.

LOL! Obama got Lou Barletta and a Republican Congress elected. Looks like a Republican president is coming down the pike too.
