I am not from this part of the country, but have been to this place a couple of times , wasn't impressed the first time and after the second time never went back ! I can and do find poor service too many places to go out of my way to go where I know the service will be bad .

on our way to scottsdale we stayed over night in demming our hotel suggested this place for a steak the waitress suggested this $26 steak that i ate two bites and offered it to her for her dog it sucked one of the worse steaks i have ever tasted i believe it was marinated in something we know laugh at the $70 we spent for a lousy meal and to top it off the price of gas was obnoxious in this shithole of a town

Del Reys used to be a very good meat market when it first came here. Now everything smells and taste like fish. No to clean either. I quit going to this business. I now buy my meats at Peppers or if in Las Cruces I buy at Sams. There meat is as good if not better, as Del Reys without the smell and not as expensive. They say that if a person goes into a meat or fish market. The first thing you should do when entering is to take a big smell. If you don't smell anything then happy shopping, if you smell anything then Bye-bye. I am from this part of the country and though it was supposed to smell(fish) but after visiting real meat and fish markets on the East coast, my eyes were opened.
Stab in the dark here, but...do you by chance put rubber gloves on before petting your lap dog?

For this being out in the middle of nowhere like some Podunk town, it's gonna be pricey just for the admission.

$15 for a minor

$27 for a single day entry

$42 for a ticket for both days

That doesn't include the food, wine tasting, etc.

To be out on something similar to the SNM Fairgrounds and charging that much for admission is nuts.

went sunday for mother's day. the service was terrible. empty tables at the time i went. wait staff would just walk by and look at us. finally had to ask if we could sit down, it still took them about five minutes, about another ten minutes to take our drink order. steaks were average, not worth the price. my son got a burger, that was great, but can get a better and less expensive one at the patio. WORST service in Deming, most expensive food.

Whoever put that Van is a great guy must not know him well. The guy is an absolute jerk...thinks we owe him something because he has a restuarant with a good rep. The only thing I have liked there is the onion soup. I have tried the place SEVERAL times because surely, with the way people recommend it, it should have SOMETHING good...NOPE. And everyone on here is right...the service is horrible. The last time I went, a friend joked that the food was great but the service was horrible. While there, I had to remind myself that it is standard to have bad service. Too bad the food wasn't worth the drive either. How did this place/man make it on TV with them saying he had great steaks? Did they try them first???

I love this place and the environment. Yes the service maybe not up to 5 stars but I always have fun and enjoy the food. This restaurant is not fine dining gourmet so I don't expect that type of service.

I'm sure the owner/manager of the AD doesn't run the place for fun. If the prices are too high and the service is lousy, why are they still in business? Can't be that many people going there who just don't give a damn about price and service! As I said before the steaks served there are only 3.5/5 so I guess mediocrity satisfys the people of LC.

I have eaten at the Adobe Deli many times. Most of the time the steaks are great. On one occasion the ribeye steak that i ordered had a strange, almost chemical, taste to it. The waitress noticed that i had only taken one bite of my steak, and i told her about it not tasting "right". She apologized and said she would mention it to the owner. A few minutes later, Van came over to speak to me about it. He seemed genuinely sorry and apologized multiple times. he offered to bring me out another steak, but i had already eaten my French onion soup, baked potato, and some of my girlfriend's T bone that she had ordered. I was willing to pay for my meal, because i had eaten everything but the steak, but was told by the waitress that the owner did not want me to do so. Van even came over, apologized again, and brought me another beer! That does not sound like something an "absolute jerk" would do. This is one of the many reasons the Adobe Deli is so popular, and i will continue to recommend this place to anyone who wants a great steak.

Thanks for the info regarding pricing. It is helpful. I've just decided to pass on this.
