WHS Coach- not football

fan wrote: <quoted text> Exaggerations as just rhetoric of the rivalry. What???? Like I said my stepmother was DRIVING the schoolbus that was being hit by objects in the parking lot last year. You are right, coach's attitude paves the way. To say that most good athletes are "cocky" in a way probably has some truth to it. But getting on a forum and posting the blog that Mginty did is WRONG!!!!!! How many other RB's in league do you see doing that? NONE!!!!! How much respect do you think other players in the league have for him right now? NONE!!!!! Why, cause cockiness has it's place and it's not in a public forum for all to read. You are making excuses for his actions cause he's 17 and that's part of the problem with this team to begin with. No accountability and no direction. Both of my kids are very good athletes and if either one of them were to post something like that, they would be in deep trouble. You teach kids to bring it to the field. You show people your talent, you don't tell them how talented you think you are. ok, your Step Mom was driving the bus, I get it. There's no excuse for throwing things at a bus, just as there's no excuse for flipping people off or shouting insults at people from inside a bus. Did that happen? I don't know, probably. Does it excuse the WHS behavior, NO WAY. But also no way something like that happens without provocation. I'm just saying a rivalry is a rivalry because fans and players on BOTH sides are passionate. It takes two sides to really create a problem. Lets stop pretending either side is all pristine and innocent. I didn't defend McGinty, nor did I make excuses for him. I said he's a good kid, and he is a good kid. I suggested that kids make mistakes, and the fact is they do. I said if "coach" Curt had a handle on his program, his players wouldn't be popping off on a web site, and they wouildn't. I KNOW that the respect a player receives from the other 16,17, year old players in the league IS NOT based on web site postings. It's based on performance on the field. I can RESPECT you, but not care for you. You can RESPECT me, but not like me. If the young buck is hard to tackle, he gets respect, end of discussion, period, exclamation mark. Despite its irrelevance, you bring up your own kids, and how much trouble they would be in if they did what MCGinty did. Fine, you parent your boys, and how about attempting to wrap your mind around the fact that you don't have clue one of how this kids Dad has responded. Try reading what I actually wrote instead of what you want to hear, or what you think I'm saying "between the lines." There is no "between the lines" in my comments. "coach" Curt screwed up, and he modeling poor leadership which gives his players permission to screw up too. There's no "making excuses" in that. Just level headed comments from someone who is actually biased, but see's the error in how WHS has been represented in this. Like I said, I'm embarassed. Respond to what I **** said, not what you think I said!!!

There must have been "provocation" for Willits kids to throw things at the bus. Of course, why didn't I stop to realize that our players must have been yelling things and/or flipping off Willits players. Dude, you have no clue. Ft Bragg has class and is humble in its victories. Oh, and by the way, the buck failed miserably tonight and tackling wasn't an issue. In fact I had to ask what number he was, cause noone on our team was crying and looking at the back of his jersey all night as he stated would be the case.

Happy to say that Willits RB didn't make anybody on FB team cry cause they were only going to see his number on his jersey running in front of them. Whew. I think they were really worried. Moyer kept it down. 5 different kids scored and pulled first string in fourth. I hope coach and RB reconsider comments in the future. Maybe they won't. Oh well. Gee, I guess that game against Midletown for league won't matter now. Ha, Ha, Ha. Middletown won't be as forgiving FB.

Last nights Fort Bragg vs. Willits game must have been a humbling experience for the kids from Willits but from the sidelines it looks like they handled it with class. I must admit it was one of the foggiest games I've ever seen in Fort Bragg (you could literally not see the other side of the field at times.) but the Willits kids appeared to handle the loss with class. Apparently their coach can learn some things from them. With Moyer having a big lineman running the ball late, second string quarter back, and leaving the subs in for the last quarter he he kept the score down. Perhaps it would have been closer had Willits not failed to convert 6 or 7 first downs but maybe Willits really doesn't have any kickers. Maybe they have a J.V. kicker?

Sorry...Make that 8 or 7 FOURTH downs. Willits never punted, even on 4th and long. And I didn't see any late hits for foul play from the players. Both teams seemed to understand how to play football like gentleman

Willits' principal is apologizing to everyone he can find for the actions of his varsity coaches. Interesting to see if they'll be back given all their best players are graduating and their JV team is awful.

What?! You actually think the JV team is awful, that's pathetic that you're even jumping to conclusions like that. Our JV team was stacked in the beginning of the season the only reason we have weakened some was because our best players were moved up to varsity. The team that's gonna be awful is Fort Bragg Varsity, who are they gonna have, Kunay? He might be able to run fast, but he's not very shifty. That was a stupid comment Michael, you'll see next year, I'm pretty sure we'll be first in league for the next couple of years.

Michael may have made a stupid comment about the Willits jv being awful, but you win the prize with your Ft. Bragg is going to be awful comment. Oh and by the way Middletown will have something to say about anybody else finishing first in league for years to come. Keep up the great posts and thank you all for the great laughs.

This same group that will be varsity next year were 10-0 last year.

WHS its called a PUNT
United States
|
Many tens of thousands of years ago, man invented the wheel. Since that time, nobody has tried to introduce a square wheel as a better model. At least not until the current WHS football coaches came along. 100 and some odd years ago, man invented football, and when faced with the possibility of turning the ball over on 4th down, he invented the PUNT. Then along came this genius WHS coach who believes he has a better idea. He is such a bone head, he refuses to ever punt. It can be 4th and 25, ball at his own 20 yard line, and he either arrogantly, or stupidly refuses to punt. He evidently believes he knows better than 100 years of football coaching and knowledge. You say you have no kicking game? Well, that's going to continue to be true as long as you decide it is! As long as you refuse to put one in, or find a kid who can kick the ball, and start practicing a kicking game, you'll never have one. If your car had a flat tire, would you walk everywhere from then on? No, you'd fix it. Fix your kicking game. Any kid on your squad could have kicked the ball at least 25 yards, way back in July when you started practicing for this season. By now, after a season of practicing, that 25 yard punter would probably be booting it at least another 10 yards further. As you learnded the hard way against Ft Bragg, if you give a good football team the ball at your 20 yard line, there's a good chance they are going to score. The "tactic" of never punting the ball is clearly only going to ever be effective against a very weak team. But as anyone knows, anything at all will work against a very weak opponent. If you truly want to win a championship, you must change your priority from preparing your teams to dominate the weakest teams, to preparing your teams to be competetive against the strongest opponents. Basic coaching 101 dude! Get a clue. or get-er-done... as in you are done.

I will never vote for a a player from that team. AND I hope , no one else will... Its one thing to win a game, but never a win, when its done like this. Think about it the next thime...
