I am very much a dog lover, but these dogs need to be put down.

I feel awful for Ms. Rutuya having her dogs killed in such a violent and unneccesary way. I have 2 dogs myself and I could not even imagine how distraught I would feel if that were to happen to them.

I'm sure that her neighbor didn't mean for this to happen, but it did. If it were me I would get a lawyer and try to get as much money as I possibly could out of the neighbors. They should have to pay a hefty sum for their carelessness.

I love Pitbulls. Maybe your fence should have been repaired long ago. Maybe you shouldnt let little snack sized mini dogs run around unwatched at night.

How do you know they were careless?

I have own many dogs. both large and small
For the most part I believe that the majority
of dog who attack are not socialize properly.
I was suprise to hear a queensland was involved
in the attack, as they are herd dogs and
usually do not attack other animals
That said, the owner of these dos needs to know
that by keeping their animal away from other
dogs, cats or people incurages them to become
territorial. Dogs need interaction, as
part of their training. Pit Bull really need
it most. starting when they a puppies.
When nutered they are less aggresive.

Snack-sized mini-dogs? Sounds like "maybe" you are just the type of person that would train a dog to do this type of thing. It's probably not the dog's fault, but people like you that think things like this.
Didn't look like an old fence that needed to be repaired by the picture on T.V. These dogs were in their own backyard.

No they do not . It is all in how the dogs beens raised . But I do agree that the owners should take full responiblity of their dogs' actins. I have raised several pitbulls , and not one of them have ever bit , or attacked anything. 2711

Pit Bulls are plain old ordinary dogs, just like any other dog. Any breed has the potential to be vicious. And no, they don't have "locking jaws" or super-dog bite pressure. The Humane Society of the United States doesn't support breed-specific legislation, because they know it doesn't make sense. I love animals, and feel very sorry for what happened to this woman's pets. But the Pit Bull breed is not to blame. If we're going to wipe out every breed that bites, there won't be a dog left on the planet.

I'm with you, Amberrrr. I'll bet these were some yappy **** dogs that annoy the heck out of other neighbors. They were probably asking for it.

Remember, in the court's/law's eyes, if your pit bull bites someone, you are automatically liable.

I'm not a fan of Pit bulls but I agree. Why do people make their dogs live outside? Dogs love being with their family. It's not clear if this was the case in this story, but it sounds like it. Poor dogs.

How come, if a Queensland Heeler and Pit Bull were BOTH attacking and BOTH confiscated the headline only says PIT BULL ATTACK?

What happened to the Heeler? Why is it not equally worthy of mention in the headline.

Either way, I feel horrible for the pet owner... but once again I'm put off by slanted reporting that emphasizes attacks when only a particular breed is involved.

For whatever reason, Pit Bulls clearly are involved in far more attacks on humans and other animals than any other breed.
I sure steer clear of them in public, although in reality I really should steer clear of any dog that doesn't know me.

Mayge the next time it will be a child playing in its backyard, then the courts will do something about these vicious dogs.
