One of the biggest boondoggles in NM history.

New Mexico is trying to be a "green" state and this fiasco fits that image...HOW???

Using all those resources to take bloated millionares into lower orbit for a few minutes thrill. It's NOT about jobs.

god help us

Mr. Branson of Virgin Air, definately has too much money in his hands. For one thing, just to go up and then come back down is preposterous. If it were taking overseas flights, or domestic for that matter, it'd make more sense. The concord went to the edge of space, for that matter. Their pilots were classified asm astronauts.

Maybe they'll hire a couple of locals as a token of goodwill.

After all, even a spaceport needs someone to sweep up and clean restrooms.

Rich man's toys. When this was first proposed it was all supposed to be privately funded. That didn't take long to change. The state has been pouring a lot of money into the project. I believe very few will benefit from this.

I will love to work the coffee bar for those "space travelers".
How about some chocolate truffles and fresh fruit upon returning???
Wall Street Journal on your way back to the hotel??
I have a relative that would provide a hot oil massage to!!!

Working a checkout counter for space-tourists? Sounds a lot like working at Denny's.

I applaud your desire to work and earn your own money (unlike many people in New Mexico), but you should set your sights higher. I've been desperate enough to take jobs like that too, but no way you could buy a home or raise a family on a service job.

Especially if the property values and taxes go through the roof like the politicians and developers want. Heck, we'll all be working three shifts apiece at McDonald's just to pay for the spaceport.
