I am a resident of Walnut, a neighboring city of the City of Industry. Last night I went to the city counsel meeting and many people are expressing their opinion in opposing the NFL stadium project. I am against it too.

But I feel that we do not have any power to stop the development project. Can you help us? I hope Walnut and Diamond Bar residents are not the only group of people to fight against the project, it is the greater Los Angeles people.

The reason is that we already suffer a lot on the freeway 60 and 57 especially the merge section everyday. The previous freeway upgrade project did not really solve the problem. The merging of the traffic is still very dangerous and causing huge congestion that could go all the way to Orange County. It has fundamental design and engineering problem. With the stadium, the problem will extend to the already suffered commuter and local residents day in and day out, including weekend.

It is just doesn't make sense to build a 75,000 seat stadium next to the problematic freeway merge section. I think I don't need to go into the detail of other negative impacts to the local and surrounding residents. Walnut is very famous for its tranquil and green environment. The stadium will definitely destroy the residential-oriented cities like Walnut, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Chino Hill, etc. Once the stadium and complex is built, more business will come in and replace the overall community landscape. Our quality of life will be suffered tremendously.

Who else in this world can block this project? What can I do? Can you help us?

Roski stated:

"For us in Los Angeles, I think it's part of the fabric of the city, like Disney Concert Hall, Sea World, Staples Center, Hollywood Boulevard -- all this stuff works to make a city great," Roski said. "To be without an NFL team is something that, I think, is unacceptable."

ITS EASY FOR HIM TO SAY UNACCEPTABLE. THE SAME WITH WALNUT RESIDENTS, HAVING AN NFL TEAM COSTING THE QUALITY OF OUR LIFE IS UNACCEPTABLE!"

Non having an NFL team in LA is NOT quality of life. I live in Diamond Bar, within walking distance to the proposed site. I open my arms and hearts for the new stadium and any NFL team that would come.
Keep in mind that a previous proposal without the stadium has long been approved, which would bring even more traffic and on a more consistant basis. The people who are opposing the stadium is blind-sighted. Please do your study before you say no.

I live in the City of Whittier on the border of City of Industry (near Rose Hills), and think the stadium should be built closer to the 605 & 60 (in a more industrial area). There will still be a lot of traffic, but no matter where you build it in L.A. it will come. Remember this is the land of the freeways. But I along with many others, I yearn for a Pro Football Team!!!

Traffic is only part of the problem with this stadium proposal. We're just starting to identify ourselves within the growing community and now these billionaires decide the time is ripe for the picking.

We must stop this cancer of corporate control over our community. It's never too late to fight back.

This stadium would severely damage the quiet, rural atmosphere that is Walnut and Diamond Bar. These cities still maintain a small town feel. An NFL stadium would destroy the fabric of these communities. Mr Roski, take the billions you've already made and give back to the community. Build homes for the homeless. Help the less fortunate. Improve education, healthcare. You've taken and made enough. Leave Walnut and Diamond Bar to the residents and citizens that make these communities such wonderful places to live.

I am moving to the Diamond Bar- Walnut area when the staduim is finished. As an NFL fan I anticipate the day a Pro-Game is less then a 3 hour drive from me!!! Imagine the value of the surrounding homes, it will sky rocket.

I'm a resident of Rowland Heights. And have been here 27 plus years. And have seen so many new changes to our areas. I am looking forward to the new staduim. I feel it will bring in revenue and more jobs to our cities.

I used to live in Diamond Bar a few years ago and feel the proposed site for the stadium is perfect! You have the 60, 57, 210, 71 freeways and those of you who say "no" because you live near by are of course going to say no. I can't wait!

I'm a resident of chino hills, traffic is and will allways be a part of our lives. Stop fighting the issue because (our Walnut is very famous for its tranquil and green environment. The stadium will definitely destroy the residential-oriented cities like Walnut, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Chino Hill, etc.) blaa blaa blaa, get over it !!!!...These area's are all congested with multi-famlies living in one house and apartment's holding lots of unemployed families that can get a job from this opportunity.
This will bring a nice change for all our community's. Bring back the rams for all us NFC fans. Niner fan....

I think building a new stadium is a great idea.. Why not expand and bring in new jobs and revenue. Many people have to drive far away to enjoy great games and events. Why not have it close to home. The 60 and the 57 are already congested. It is not going to make that big of a difference. Build it and they will come!!!

for all you "residents" that live near the proposed stadium site and are anxious for this project... you obviously have no idea what the hell youre talking about. with any large football stadium, it draws fans AND the homeless. i can guarantee you that crime rates are going to go up along with excess trash on the streets and higher levels of air pollution. stop trying to urbanize the suburbs and build the stadium elsewhere.

Damn it. If I lose extra hours of sleep because of traffic that's even worse than it is now, I will destroy someone.

I don't see that the traffic will be nearly as bad with the stadium as with the industrial park that was already approved a couple of years ago, but stalled because of financing. It allowed for 600 trucks/day, 24/7. Most of the 45 allowed stadium events per year would be at night, not during rush hour, and football games are on Sunday, not on weekdays, so commuter traffic would be affected FAR less than with 600 trucks per day, plus all the cars of all the employees at the proposed industrial park. Just my opinion, but I don't live there.

James, if they DO build a stadium, then the NFL will definitely put a team there, but it won't be the Vikings or the Chargers. More likely would be the Jaguars, who should never have been there in the first place. They have had pretty good teams, but can't fill their stadium at all, or come anywhere close the last couple of seasons. The owners are dying to get out, and are salivating at the thought of a Los Angeles franchise. Other teams might get into the mix as well, there are a lot of dollars involved. Maybe Carolina, or possibly Tampa Bay, but more likely Jacksonville.
