A family of four was hit by a suspected drunk driver while riding their bikes in Rialto on Sunday.

I have to agree...why is it that when you kill someone while drunk driving, they go easy on you because they say you did not set out to kill anyone. Well, if you are drinking and make the decision to get behind the wheel, then I think you do set out to kill someone. If you don't, then that's just luck. Drunk drivers that kill should get harsher sentences. That famil will never be the same but for Jesse Astorga, he goes to jail for a while, pays a fine and his life is back to usual...set loose to do it again.

JEEZ !! What do we have to do to stop this? Mr. Astorga (Thank you Prop 40) was running from a previous accident when he killed this child. It's almost as if railing against these drivers does no good. Hispanic, running from the scene (why?) and leaving devastation behind. This has to stop. It's unacceptable!

I live near the scene, and I don't think this **** is an illegal. He's had prior speeding arrests and the car was registerd to him.

I've always said the same thing. There has been enough education about the hazards of drinking and driving. I feel that if you get drunk, get behind the wheel and hurt someone, it should be attempted pre-meditated murder. If you kill someone, it should be pre-meditated murder in the first degree. Non of this manslaughter crap.

In a world that it totally spinning out of control, I'm not surprised at the name calling and venomous comments being spewed towards this Hispanic man. I've also read posts calling the USC girl a ****, the 17 pregnant teens in Massachusetts were called white trash, and the kid who was recently decapitated was called a hood rat and a crack addict.

Every one of these news stories is sad, but the lack of compassion is even sadder.

I hope the drunk driver goes to jail; I hope the parents and their 1 year old baby heal physically and emotionally; I hope the USC student serves her time and uses birth control if she chooses to have sex; I hope the girls in MA finish school and get jobs to support their children; I hope the parents of the dead teen don't sue because the 17 year old clearly was at fault, but I also hope that the Lord has mercy on me and all of you...should we, or anyone we know and love, ever make one of the same mistakes.
