I say Liu should be disciplined, maybe even fired, but no need waste more money with an investigation. Maybe the AG can get three courses of action and choose the worst one!
The correct bidder was awarded in the end. Punish Liu quickly and move on.
Was Donna a hottie? Cool.

Some of the principals in H2 were, in fact, major supporters of the governor, as well as other Republicans nationally. |
|
Like I ALWAYS said...Hawaii voters are the fools that keep them in. That is why this state is so messed up...they do not want change...I give up in trying and that is why I left this state that I was born and raised in and never came back. |
|
Aloha Aina, I agree. But the people of Hawaii lack knowledge (mana'o they always preach)in politics and who they vote for. They have been brain washed over the years and live traditionally and vote Democrat. They voted for a Republican governor but yet they keep their legislative body in the crooked hands of the Democrats. I say to the people of Hawai..... keep suffering........!! |

Pay attention people. When the company which should have received the bid, LIngle/Liu cirlced the wagons and denied anything wrong had happened. When the procrument office ruled against Liu, they still denied they did anything wrong (they disagreed with the ruling). When the leg. started looking at it, Liu admitted he may have made some mistakes but said they had been corected (try he was forced to correct them). Now they are attacking the messnegers who have discovered that the staff covered up the evil acts. Did the staff spontenously decide to do this? Or were they ordered to?
This reeks of the superferry debacle. |

Did Lingle ask the taxpayers of the state of Hawaii if she can use OUR money to buy Turtle Bay?
Unforunately, the days of being able to use the words honesty and politicians in the same sentence are gone forever. |
|
|
Not a Lingle supporter but with what went on in the leg this year Kim should be held accountable too.
Politics. Just plain politics. |

Hey Matt - Do you live in Nevada like it states on your profile? Great for you to get out of "corrupt" Hawaii, but I think your place of relocation needs to be reviewed. Take a look at this website before you question the intelligence of Hawaii voters. http://www.nevadacorruption.info/ |

It's sickening to watch the fiasco between Rep and Dem...FOR PETE'S SAKE GOVERN THE STATE AND STOP SCHOOL YARD WARS. The dems make me sick with their witch hunts, cheap shots and accusations. Not that the reps are perfect but it's so obviously one sided.
What a joke. but it's not funny because Kim is wasting time and money better spent on solving REAL problems here...like education, homeless and economy. Oh, but that would mean DOING THEIR JOB!! sorry, silly me! |
|
Why are you attacking Senator Kim for doing her constitutional duties as an elected Senator? I recall Governor Lingle calling for an end to the corrupt practices of those in elected offices saying that the government was filled with cronyism. Yet, her director of DBED&T tried to reward one of her cronies illegally with a state contract, perhaps because he and his wife contributed $12,000 to the Governor's campaign war chest. She and her administration is worst than those whom she accused seven years ago for improperly rewarding political cronies. Senator Kim ought to be praised and encouraged to dig deeper into the wrongdoings of this administration rather than vilifying her with such slanderous name calling. My view of the Governor was once of respect and hope. She has been a real disappointment, not only in this case, but for the way she is running State government as though it was a PR firm. The news media ought to do better in reporting on the "untold stories." |
|
One should seek the real answer to the question: "Why did all of the key staff members involved suddenly decided to 'retire' just before the session started?" Surely, Senator Kim should be asked to find that smoking gun. |

Our AG is like Gonzalez was for Bush - interested in serving Lingle, rather than enforcing the law.
Don't ever expect this AG to investigate or prosecute a friend of the governor. And just watch as the governor appoints her next round of judges from the AG's office. I can't believe the republicans on this forum backing corruption - just because it comes from their side. Corruption and favoritism are bad in government - always - even when the governor is republican. |

Fire the bums.

Linda Lingle has called Kim's act a "witch hunt". This should not be a surprise as Kim has been a witch since she entered the public arena. Arrognat and full of herself, but she is getting old so let's give her some room...no let's not she is a fool. Fire up that broom.

you think the state is bad. Should check out the City, I hear its worse than ever.
|
|
.........and we all know who is in charge of the city, Mr. Steel on Steel. |
|
|
I love my country but fear my goverment. How sad
|

There seems to be more to this story than what was revealed. If Lingle is correct, then Kim appears to be incompetent and biased. If Kim is correct, then there are more chinks to Lingle's armor than the debacle involving bringing the Super Ferry to Hawaii. Strong words from both sides. It'll be interesting to see what happens with this.

Uncovering abuse of power is always a good thing, whether it be Lingle or Mercado-Kim. |

Boy! I am confused. Now, who is the witch and who is ****?
