I'm extending my deepest heart felt sympathy for the Brostrom Family. We had the blessed opportunity to spend some time with the Brostrom’s as they hosted a farewell function for another officer that 1LT Brostrom befriended and helped graduate ROTC. 1LT Brostrom personally dedicated time to help 1LT Spann learn how to swim. Additionally, his Mother sponsored 1LT Spann with a part-time job as he worked towards getting his commission. I attended both 1LT Brostrom and 1LT Spann's Commissioning Ceremony and feel deep regrets for the Brostroms loss. I can only ask you remember the function for 1LT Spann that you (The Brostrom's) hosted and reflect on the great time we had shared together. I still remember that day and it always places a smile on my face. We laughed until it hurt and then some. Your Son is a great person, Soldier and Son. A very special person we will never forget. God Blesses You. The Henry’s of Kapolei

Did you lose someone in September 11th?

I didn't loose anyone personally but five members of my small church died on those airplanes. One was a 3yr. old boy coming home after visting his grandparents. Iraq was probably a mistake but that bearded creep is being protected in Afg. and the people are suffering only because of their actions. Give him and his gang of thugs up and were out of there. Hell, scare the **** out of them and drop a simulated nuclear weapon ( jelled gasoline).

"ohana", thank you for sharing this brief story. I had always wondered if there were any children on board those planes and had wondered what they were going through when all that madness was going on.

Which flight were your friends from church on?

I'm sorry to hear they had to go through that. I agree with you that we shouldn't lose focus and we should do all we can to get that murdering s.o.b. whether he's hiding in Afghanistan or Pakistan, we've wasted too much time.

quoted text>It's not a crime to be an idiot, so continue to act-a-fool Casual Observer. Boy would you make a great Army recruiter. Not!
My comments are geared towards people who show contempt and disrespect for men and women in uniform. I respect their choice to join and serve. I am not attempting to recruit anyone on this thread, only honoring the memory of fallen soldier. God bless Lt. Jonathan P. Brostrom's family and loved ones in your time of loss and grief.

As I have stated previously, I am a Viet Nam veteran. I didn't join the Army, I was drafted. I came home to a hostile enviornment. Because of my job in the Army I didn't have to take part in the day to day combatant operations. I was shot at and I shot back. No full scale firefights. I was called a murderer. I was denied employment. We did not come back as heros in many peoples eyes, instead as undesirables. Was my experiences an oddity or the norm. I've talked with many veterans and they experienced the same treatment. So to condemn those who are serving now is the utmost in disrespect. It does not matter if this war in Iraq is right or wrong these men and women are serving their nation. Were those who served in WW2 scum? Some people were against that war. I'm a conservative but I believe all war is wrong both morally and intellecually. In the 21st century we should be able to settle are problems without killing one another. But on the other hand, if were going to fight, lets fight. If were going into battle don't send men and women out in Hummers witha piece of metal on the bottom to protect them. Tanks and armour personel carriers are the proper vehicles. Back to my point, respect those who are serving our country and welcome them home with open arms and comfort for the ordeal they have been thru.

I'm sure all of Hawaii does not appreciate your arrogant comments. You should keep your negative comments in UK and mind your own business since you sound like and think like the enemy. Murdering innocent people on 9/11 by your sick people caused the world to change and all America will always hold you scums responsible. You don't take life or living seriously and thats what the whole war is about..TERRORIST. You chop heads off for no reason and car bomb innocent people because death and sacrifice by your people is an acceptable way of life..how sickening. If the US fought this war with all its modern warfare..Iraq and Afghanistan would have been flattened by now. Keep your negative comments out of the Hawaii Forum..We don't need to hear it..It;s disgusting. Let us enjoy our freedom because of our brave men and women of the armed forces that will always protect and defend the United States of America. God bless our country.
I wholly concur. The Islamic men are so manly- they let their women become suicide bombers. If the United States played by the same rules the terrorists did, that whole part of the world would glow in the dark. Marat, you can run run with scissors if you want, or play in traffic on the freeway, or have a weinie roast on with the weinies stuck on oleader branches...

I am Jason Bogar's sister. He was one of the 9 soldier's killed with Jonathan.
I want to send my deepest condolences, as I myself am going through the same pain now.
If the family is reading this, please contact me at cariserenee@hotmail.com. I'd love to learn more about Jonathan.
Thanks very much,
Carise Martindale
