I miss her already and I didn't even know her personally. "The Golden Girls" is a daily ritual in my house. I watch it every day I get home from work. It calms me down and makes me laugh. Estelle has had an impact on my life, and I will never forget her or Sophia. I'm watching the show now.

Think of it this way. Down here she couldn't remember who she was and what she did. At least up there, if there is a heaven, she now knows what an icon she was.

God Bless You, Estelle!
Thanks for the wonderful memories.
Even as a kid, I enjoyed that show.
I was saddened to hear of her passing.
Good luck to her family, and may you find comfort in knowing that, for a little bit each day, she let millions of people find comfort in her skills.
May you Rest in Peace.

Still on in syndication? Remember nights eating pizza and watching the "Girls". I just loved them! "Ma" was always walking around with her straw handbag. There was an episode when she befriended a man on the park bench. Turns out he had Alzheimers. I'm actually crying a little as I write. Estelle, you were fabulous in that role, just the right mix of sweet and sour. You won't be forgotten.

Isn't it funny how we can grieve for people we have never met? I'm still weeping.

It's hard to believe that we lost one of our Golden Girls. They started filming the show 23 years ago and it feels like yesterday. Life is better for all of us having that show in our lives. Yes it was only a tv show some will say.... But with all the pain in the world it's nice to have something to make us smile.:) Thanks Estelle!!!

They were all remarkable and formed a perfect synergy. Dorothy, always hinting about Shady Pines. Blanche, the ****! Rose talking about Saint Olaf. Sophia and "picture this...Italy, a beautiful young girl"...etc. Yes, it wasn't just the show, it was the good times I remember watching with my family. We all laughed.

I remember watching the Golden Girls with my grandmother(Nonie) when it first aired (I was only like 9 or 10 then)and I loved it. Sophia reminded me of my great-grandmother(But you could never tell her that-she'd yell at you)and my nonie watched the reruns until she passed away. To this day I still watch the Golden Girls on lifetime, and so do my kids! Even my seven year old sings "Thankyou for being a friend", and I'm always quoting Sophia. May she rest in peace, and maybe hang out with my nonie and cause a ruckus!

Do you have a favorite episode? Remember a young George Clooney? Stan and his weirdo gadgets? When the "girls" entered a dance contest? What about when Sophia was busy working everywhere and everyone thought she was sitting at the beach. Yep, great show, wonderful characters, and I think some heart of each them always showed up. Sad. Sitcoms are not so funny anymore. I still think that there was "magic" in that show. Love.
