Well, then, name them.
We're waiting....Last I knew there weren't even three businesses on the plaza that sold the eye in the first place. Sounds like pure hyperbole to me.

I don't think that will be necessary. The wheels are in motion to transform Arcata into a civilized place again. Think about it, Groves and Pitino are not running for council- we could actually get a council of grownups who could begin to undo the damage wrought by the infamous all Green council. Combine this with the anti dope tsunami that is coming and you have a livable city.

Now that has the ring of truthiness. Pitino's set in his ways, but Harmony was OK till the pot problem came along and then she went kookoo.

Stoners rule!!They make really good apethetic consumers. They buy lots of video games, junk food, and always pay their cable bills. They won't ever start an armed Revolution because they are too lazy. They are good for the economy.

Most of the real obnoxious punks out there don't even smoke pot, they exclusively drink alcohol. Is Arcata really going to be that much different if nobody grows indoor pot? I can understand not wanting whole houses dedicated to cultivation, but a garage or a bedroom, why does it matter? If the electrical is safe, there shouldn't be a problem.

Gresham, you really should find a new way to make a living. Seriously, there must be something you can do. Maybe not.

I really don't understand you. You moved to a town that is the one of the most liberal town's in America. People move here from all over the states so they can dress or look like they want or be who they want , without the conservative type of people trying to control them and you seem to want to come here and try to change the place you have moved to , since the late sixties this is Humblodt Leo . Please explain that one and how you feel it is fair to make Humboldt Your own Bushland.

Actualy you are mistaken. THC and the Icenter both operate under the model set up years ago after the Rosenthal decision in the supreme court. It was determined that the grows should be independent of teh co ops for the safety of the medicine suppy. If the medicice is growen on site a dea raid could shut it down permanently. On the other hand if medicine is produced elsewhere and a dispensary is raided by the feds, the can get a new fresh supply from the gardens by the next day.
Sorry but that's why they work that way. Safety of the supply chain.
Oh one more thing, outright bans on dispensaries are illegal, and there are already lawsuits pending.
ERROR - THC produces on site. That's what the PlanCo thing was about: THC's grow was NOT permitted and needed to be up graded. When they tried to make it legal, PlanCo said "No growing."

THC does both, grows on site and buys meds from coop members. The iCenter wanted to but their landlord only let them stock clones; which is weird because when they frist rented the place the same landlord said "see the high celings would be great to grow under." Then changed his mind.

You write like you are still in the majority. The late 60s were a long time ago and and were owned by the baby boomers who are now slowly, gradually losing their grip. Look at the KHSU flap as one small example. The social pendulum swings both ways and I think your time will be up before too long.

Lets see the 'libral green' take over / change over from a Fortuna like City Council (local old boys) happened back in the early 1970's.(Guess you new-be's don't know this, sit down and be schooled!)

Back then the 101 by pass was coming threw and Alex Fairless,(now Alex Stilman) and lets see; Dan Hauser then next year Westly C. all were the frist 'all "hip"' Arcata City council. They ran on a "Four no more" ticket and won.(Which is funny for several reasons; 1.) Cal Trans wnet for 4 lanes but ended up using up the same amount of space as 6 would take (which is what CalTrans wanted). 2.) "Four no more" is what some are saying about the MMJ shop numbers!

They replaced local Dentist, land owner and general group of old boys and became a 'majority' in 1972. Alex Fairless/Stilman also was a Kinetic Sculpture Race Queen at the time.

By the time p215 came around Arcata City Council was libral and was the frist city to addopt an ord. which covered it. TITLE V - SANITATION AND HEALTH CHAPTER 10--PERSONAL MEDICAL MARIJUANA USE (Ord. No. 1276, Feb. 4, 1998)
Which also covered coops and shops ...
http://www.cityofarcata.org/index.php...

Time Mag_ did a peice on it: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9...
So did the NCJ.
http://www.northcoastjournal.com/071599/cover...

Heck Alex Fairless/Stilman was 'busted' for an 'illgal' home she had at the time, a 'tree house' ontop of a stump, that had photo in National Geographic.

So to 'hang' this on Harmony or Pitino lets me know how new you are to Arcata or weren't involved with the City Council until just recently.

You've lived here long enough to know most of everything I posted right?

Hum maybe not?- you got here in 1985 right? Funny always think of you being around 'back in the day' for the "four no more" thingy.

Oh well sometimes even I make a mistake ...

ERROR - Harmony's boy freind is not a 'stoner' in fact he is very adement about his non-use of MJ or any other drugs for several reasons, which you can ask him about. He has several very good reasons to not use any drugs or do anything that could get him in trouble. Like I say ask him, he works more then full time.

Harmony's stance for p215 is because she watched her dad died of cancer, years before p215. He was 'stuck' using the legal but addictive Rx drugs (Morphine) to releave the pain he slowly died in while under experemental raditation treatment.
