I have stated before that I believe the current plans for the location of the performing arts center is a bad idea. I support the merchants and their concerns regarding parking and other issues associated with this proposal. EPIC seems to be making rosy predictions here that cannot be verified. EPIC should choose another location away from downtown so as to not affect the already limited parking situation in downtown Estes Park. In addition, I feel that there must be a better use for the old Park Theater Mall property than a performing arts center.

I aree with OwenK. Whatever happened with building The Performing Arts Center at the fairgrounds? The parking situation would be solved with the parking lot right there that is hardly ever used anyway. I still believe that a public vote should take place on the Performing Arts Center and let the chips fall where they may. I personally have talked to more people who either don't want it or at least would rather see it in a different location. How about building a permanent ice skating/roller skating rink at the old mall? Or wouldn't the previous owners benefit financially from it?

Isn't one of the purposes of the Trustees to serve the public? If so, why not let the public (full time town residents only, not the wuses who leave in the winter) vote on The Performing Arts Center. Are the individuals who are pushing this project full time residents, and who exactly are they? This has nothing but special interests in mind. Also, if any of the Trustees are friends of anybody who is associated with EPIC they should be disqualified from this farce and charged with conflict of interest.

What is the vocal (non)majority scared of? If everyhone in town wants this so bad, prove it with a vote.
