IF this bill does become law EVERY voter needs to vote out every BUM politician that voted for it, regardless of the party affiliation. We need to vote in ALL new politicians at the next election as what do we have to lose; nothing! The ones we currently entrusted to take care of us have failed miserably! Folks, this is going to cost all of us a fortune and lots of bucks that many citizens frankly cannot afford.
It does not matter whether you earn $20,000 a year or 200,000 a year, the taxes on our gas and electric bills will affect everyone of us; not just the rich!
Politicians cannot seem to get the message that we, the voters, do have rights and that we are not here to pay their salaries or bend to their whims.
Please, please, call your congressman and raise the roof with them and don't be afraid to let them know that IF they vote to pass this bill that you will vote them out at the next election. Its time for voters to get off their duffs, quit bitching to themselves and take some action.

Once again the politicians have rammed this Crap & Trade Bill through while people weren't paying attention. They added an extra 300 pages at the last minute- how much reading went on before they signed and voted for this. The MSM has not been covering this the way they should have and informing the public of what exactly is going to happen to the regular folk. Taxes are going to go up on your energy bills, unemployement is going to rise due to large companies moving to China & Mexico, costs going up cause we will have to pay more for imports....the list goes on and on. O'Bummer promised to not raise taxes on the average citizen, but he just did! O'Bummer, Pelosi, Reid, et-al just screwed us. Next on the agenda - taxing your medical benefits!! They will try & push this one through in the middle of the night too! Gotta wonder what crisis they will come up with to divert our attention from this upcoming bill!! We need to vote these idiots out - they do not care about improving our lives - they are just looking to take total control of them.

It is amazing to me how uninformed many Americans are on this subject! I just talked to 2 of my friends that had no idea what Cap & Trade is, and what is going to happen if this bill passes in the Senate. They were stunned into reality when I explained how this is going to affect them and every other American.

If you are NOT outraged, then YOU are NOT paying attention!!! Wake up sheeple....slowly government is taking over and when you wake up it's going to be too late. There will be no going back.

There will be no change$$$ for the Obama/Pelosi/Reid koolaid drinkers, thats for sure!!

Why aren't there more responses on this topic? The liberal SF Chronicle has had hundreds of responses on this, and even the liberal voters are furious. C'mon people wake up and smell the coffee!!

Liberals are furious because they don't believe it goes far enough.

The fact is, democrats understand this could be a defining vote in the 2010 elections.

81% now trust their own judgement more than Obama's on economic issues.

He is PERSONALLY popular, but his policies aren't. The liberal democrats in congress from safe areas, who have hung around longer than yeast infections are now in charge, due to seniority.

It's a fluke, and they're driving the train now.

Democrats are petrified of 2010. It has all the earmarks of 1994 when they got caught flat footed and got b*tchslapped.

They see if this time, but the blindly liberal left idiots don't care. They are shoving as fast as they can before the nation slaps them again in 2010.

Obama's approval index is 0 again according to Rasmussen.

He is PERSONALLY popular, like Clinton was, but his policies are not. Like Clinton.

The independents support the GOP now by a 2 to 1 margin.

Obama has lost the independents which were crucial for him, and are crucial for the democrats in 2010. They're losing them faster and faster.

The "cyclic" winds of change are already blowing, and blowing directly against the democrats now.

Proof that the trashers of talk radio don't really listen to the shows. If they did they would know what 'cap and trade' is all about. Our lamestream newsmedia should be analyzing this kind of stuff instead of worshiping the Obamas and devoting their entire newscasts during the day of the vote to a dead pedophile.

In the SF Chron comments blog on this - the usually liberal people that responded were infuriated because they were promised no taxes for the average "joe" and now they are finding out that their taxes are going up via PG&E (gas, electric)unemployment is going to rise due to factories shutting down and moving out of the country. Insteresting fact, which not too many people are aware of - if passed this bill would require a homeowner to make sure their house is considered "green" inorder to sell it. That is great if your house is new, but what about the older homes. Now the government is going to try put limitations on how you can sell your home. Local authorities already do home inspections prior to selling to make sure that it meets code requirement (at least in my area) The people who commented really didn't seem concerned about the percentage of dems in office - actually quite the opposite - most said time to vote them out the next time they are up for re-election.

Am against Cap & Trade myself.

However, the majority of voters who vote only for anyone with a (D) behind their names are people who don't have a clue what what the (D) people are actually doing.

They voted (D) because they thought they were going to get a lot "free" stuff which would be paid for by the rich.

Eventually, maybe, some will actually take a look at who and what they voted for.

They are going to be shocked, and dismayed, that "they" are going to be the "chosen ones" that will end paying for lots of "free" stuff too!

I have to agree with you. This story really didn't come out via main stream media until a few days ago (in my area at least) I watch the "other" channels and read many blogs on line - this story has been talked about for a long time. Even when it hit the local TV news, it was overshaddowed by the death of MJ (that being the lead story) I always check out all of the cable news networks, just so I can keep an open mind, but I am finding that many divert from the truth.

Oh, I forgot to add in my previous post, after reading the SF Chron blogs, I went over to the MSNBC site and followed the link to their blogs - I was very surprised to see how many of those people were p*ssed off and talking about voting out their dem. reps too. I guess peoples eyes are being opened to what is about to hit them.

Just wait for the medical benefits tax to come up!

“Anthony Watts compiled the results of all the sources. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year time. For all sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.”
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2008/02/19/january...

The "global warming" scam and lie.

The socialists are claiming "global warming" over a one degree rise over 100 years ... and completely ignoring a .75 degree drop in just one year!
The democrats are only using it to regulate your lives, and greatly increase your taxes ... all for a lie!

The dems control in office was once again short and not so sweet. They are learning to run fast and furious when they do get any control though.

What most Americans will hear about it will come directly from Obama through the lib news media.

And according to Obama and the lib news media the energy tax will only cost the average American about $175 which is so far from reality that its laughable.

But that's all many Americans know or want to know right now.

I don't think you care about most Americans. If you did, you would be seeing AGW is REAL.

Then sometimes you pretend to support nuclear energy. Are you all about pretense, M-7??

The lower numbers are supposedly after rebates. Isn't that nice - the government takes your money, and then is generous enough to give (some of) it back to you. Makes me feel all tingly.
Of course, who knows what's in the last 300 pages. Is it 'just' pork, or are they screwing someone in particular?
Didn't Pelosi promise at least 48 hours before a bill would be voted on?
Sigh.
