An explosive line up from top to bottom. Lilly chips in with perfect bunt and good outing after bad first inning. Pen still shakey and the injury bug hasn't hit yet. Again, when was the last year the Cubs dominated the opposition at home? As for the seventh inning, isn't Billy Williams a class act and great interview? No wonder he easily got into the Hall of Fame.

Billy Williams showcases the class acts that made the Cubs; Santo, Aaron, Sutcliff and so on. I still feel there's something missing. Another bullpen arm, which will hopefully come out of AAA and a #2 or #3 SP, which will hopefully come out of a good trade before the ASB. Then, baring major injuries, I can say the 2008 Cubs are the class act of MLB. July is a major litmus test with road games against good team but I for one, am looking forward to them instead of dreading them. GO CUBS!

Its almost gotten to the point where we've gotten spoiled with these comeback victories at home, because its not just a freak thing anymore, its become expected. Thats when you know you got something special going.

Don Wakamatsu, you want to see talent? The CUBS HAVE TALENT YOU ****! Geo Soto, Zambrano, Marmol, Wood, Lee, Aram, Soriano, Derosa...those guys have talent! What does this team have to do with past 99 teams? Give them a chance! Lou HAS completely changed the style of play. This team has something that the past 99 teams didn't have...killer instinct.

Now, the question is whether if this team can win it all? Maybe, maybe not. Baseball is to unpredictable and no one can predict who is going to win. I unlike majority of idiotic illogical baseball fans (like you Son) don't believe in curses, "losing" traditions etc. This is just another baseball team that deserves respect because of their heart and determination. And yet, you think you know it all? But I agree with you one one thing...we will see who is RIGHT on Sept. 29th. Until then, I wish the Whitesox luck.

The great thing about cubs fans is we don't hate. This team is great. When one cubs is down the others pick him up. Thats winning. Let the haters hate and get what they deserve.

On your way back to the Sox, you might want to drop in to a school and learn to spell. Let's see...we've got a cleashay's (plus the added bonus of the South Side apostrophe to indicate plural), I see a yor, a beliving, an inevatability, and who could do without a little Depenability? You're officially entitled to a rebate from whatever skool learned you.

You're very right. This lineup is so solid that after the 3 run 1st inning homer, I thought -- no big deal -- they'll come back.

When was the last time we could ever have that level of confidence in a Cubs' offense?

Whats a bigger waste of print space than all these mindless anti-cub slurs are the Cubs fans 'defending'cubs.Just tell me how I can get tickets without paying scalping fees. Cubs are great . Let's talk about the game and the team, not about the fans from the other teams who don't like Cub success.
Soto is just a rookie and Johnson was a 'throw-away'.Just think about it!

I can't think of a more fitting way for the Cubs to end their 100 year World Series drought than to lose it to the White Sox! Hopefully they won't pull their usual choke job on the way there because the Sox will be there waiting for them and as they say the rest will be history.

One win at a time, coming off a 4-3 roady that anyone would take from the West Coast. Is SorryAno finally healthy and in his hitting zone? He sure looked better on the base paths and he actually RAN to catch a ball in front of him.

Marmol for only ONE batter??? Then Howry dishes up a couple of runs? Come on Lou, Carlos over Howry any day for a full inning, he can do it.

Soto isn'tjust a rookie. He is at least 25, and made to stay in the minors a year longer than he anticipated, where he racked up great numbers and lots of confidence.
That's the way organizations used to treat their hot properties- keep them in the minors as long as possible to maximize their education before they get to the majors and do damage.
Hopefully, the Cubs will not be forced to rush other so-called phenoms.

My calendar is just fine. We're talking Cubs/Baseball, not Ceasar/Roman Senate.

It is surprising, though, to note that someone on this site would recognize the Shakespearean etymology of the expression.:)

Nonetheless, it is true. The protagonists in this "play" are looking at the wrong omens. Despite the extraordinary number of early season wins, the Blue Devils remain only 2-3 games ahead of the next place team. Were they 8-10 games up the outcome would be less worrisome.

A single series with the Cards in St. Louis is all that it takes to launch the Blue Devils down the slippery slope.

Beware the Ides of September. Et tu, NWAM?

Why are Black Sox fans so obsessed with what the Cubs are doing? Does the inferiority complex generate that much hatred. They were in the 15th inning the other night against KC and what were they chanting? Let's go Sox? No. They were chanting, "the Cubs lost, the Cubs lost." Maybe they are frustrated because their only companions are rubber blow up dolls.
