The Rock Doves have lost a true friend today. I hope the driver is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Nice story, but could you shave off a few more details of this poor man's life and manage to squeeze in a few more mentions about how he was featured in THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE please?

Joseph, you reminded us that there is not a creature on earth that is not deserving of kindness and love. I will feed the pigeons in your memory today, and miss you.

I knew this man when my husband and I lived in Lincoln Square. When I saw this article it was strange to recognize the "pigeon man". I hope that the Tribune gives further information on some sort of services. If he does not have family, I think the man deserves a vigil.

My freind lives around Lincoln Square and I saw this man on a regular basis. I always felt sad that maybe the pidgeons were the only friends that he had. RIP Pidgeon man.

Chicago neighborhoods have had some great character that give the place color and diversity.

God Bless this man and his family, and all those he shared his lovely spirit with (human and non-human).

Odd, how I live in the square, and saw him there often, but did not know him or why he sat there. I am not a fan of people feeding pigeons, but they sure did have a reason beyond food to be with what appeared to be such a gentle soul. His presence was more of a comfort than nuisance. My condolences to all his friends

I agree that a statue would be a great way for the city to preserve and honor the memory of the Pigeon Man.

Mr. Zeman was a compassionate, Lincoln Square legend. His passion for animal welfare will be missed.
