Has anyone heard anything about a fatal rollover accident on Highway 137, on the Queens Highway? It was about three miles off of the Artesia Highway intersection on Friday night around 9pm. I've been watching the on CA paper and topix, but nothing has shown up yet.

No, I didn't hear the name, just that it was a male in his early twenties. To my knowledge there were no other people in the accident. The SO did a search of the area and found his truck off the road in the brush. I did hear that the driver was ejected from the truck.

Amazed, The young man is 32 and it is in the Obituary section of the paper this morning. I heard the name on KOAT yesterday morning. My son was friends with this young man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who are hurting because of the loss of this young man.

It is so sad to be losing another person. I wonder if it was because he was not wearing his seat belt and kicking back and enjoying the ride since he was ejected from his truck. Poor man, and his family. God Bless them all and RIP.

The report that I heard was that he was NOT wearing his seat belt.

Seatbelts are such a nuisance, but they are worth the hassle. I won't even let my passengers get by without wearing theirs when they're in my car. When my teens started driving, they thought that I was a fanatic, but learning from my own experience, this is the one thing we do have control over. Reflecting back on that horrific accident that I was in as a teen where I wasnít wearing a seatbelt, I don't mind being called a fanatic. I came close to death due to that rebellion (of thinking I didn't need to wear one and nothing bad would ever happen to me) and learned the hard way! Donít let experience be your best teacher! Learn from the mistakes of others.

Please buckle up your seat belt and insist that your passengers wear one! You never know when an accident will occur and even though they cramp your style, at least you may still have a style to cramp if you do wreck.

And his BAC was what? Or do we say "so sad" and ignore a probable reason for this dead body?

This "dead body" happened to be someone's family member. He was a father, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, & a best friend-Have a little respect, as you too will die one day be it accident or not, & I'm sure your family and friends would like a little respect when you pass

As I will be dead why should I give a damn? Say what you like. Dead or Alive. Don't bother me none.
It is a valid question given the levels of alcoholism in Eddy County...and no, I do not drink. I'm not trying to 'escape' anything but this town-3yrs,4mos, 2days,17hrs to go.

I never insinuated that you drink. I was just stating that your family & friends would deserve some respect, unlike you. But if you don't care, then why should they.....

Isn't Carlsbad considered the garden spot of the West? Why are you so unhappy there? Will I be sorry I asked you this quetion? Now don't hold anything back, tell us.

There are so many negatives about Carlsbad that I really don't want to list them out. Unless you have to be here as I do (for now) there is no reason to be here.
Come to see the Caverns if you never have before, but it is basically just a big hole in the ground with some interesting formations. While El Paso is 2 hours down the road you are better off to stay over there than driving into Carlsbad...unless you are fond of neglected properties and roadside trash.
The kindest words to describe it are: Depressingly Shabby.
