It will still be the same clan that has kept this city deprived. Look at the growth and better selection of businesses in the surrounding area (Artesia, Hobbs, Roswell). Even if Lutman got in, these business owners and the politics of this town would oust him. I don't know why I have stayed. I left several times and magneticly returned. I say family but hell.

The I&W brine well is one of the biggest problems our town has right now, and the Safety director from that company wants to be Mayor?

Yes, that's true. Peculiar, huh? Considering he's one of the VERY few "higher-ups" from I & W that isn't a resident if Artesia. While he is a nice guy, he is quite meek and a pushover. Sounds PERFECT (convenient)- for I & W, that is.

Carlsbad is full of imperfect people just like any other city. You will never find a "Perfect" canidate. I guarantee you even these other cities had issues with their canidates as well.

I think this election more then any, we should take an open mind and "NEW" look at all canidates. Set any prejudice behind us, really listen to what they have to say, it might even mean giving someone a second chance.

There are a couple of individuals who have no secrets, they are what they are. They have knowledge and foresight to actually make "Good" changes to our city (not because of a good ole' boy system).

A couple of them will definitely ruffle some feathers at City Hall if elected and we need some feathers ruffled.

Give each candidate a chance, look at them with an open mind, be willing to set asside rumors, past feelings, judgements, etc about particular canidates.

I for one, thank each individual willing to put themselves and their families through a brutal and cruel process of an election for the sake of trying to make a difference and do their civic duty.

The unfortunate truth is, mean things will be said, rumors will fly, characters will be tested.

Carlsbad please try and have an open mind, put away judgements, rumors, and feelings. Listen to each canidate and ask hard questions of all of them. Make your choice based on facts not prejudice.
