Baykeeper threatens legal action

A San Francisco-based environmental watchdog group has notified Hillsborough and San Mateo County that it intends to sue both for allegedly violating the federal Clean Water Act.

Hillsborough should be sued for contaminating the Bay. Jackie Speire lives there and she created the BWASCA water board. She had her picture in the Daily supporting the addition of fluoride in 2004. Speire did nothing to stop the addition of chloramine and flouride which are corrosive and carcinogenic. If the pipes are leaking, it's partly her fault, SFPUC and the Board of Supervisors.They also want us to recycle water from corroding metal leaching pipes. Copper and lead is leaching for the pipes in people's homes, because of the addition of these poisons. Palo Alto takes their incinerated poop to Kettleman City because of the high copper content. What better way to bring stem cell research to the Bay Area by poisoning the water and causing health problems? Burlingame is 100 years old and they need 100 miles of sewer lines to repair. They didn't consider pipe replacement into the city matainance cost in 100 years? How old is Hillsborough? Pipes were not important there either?
Buringame thought their fines were unfair and they charged the residents huge utility taxes to pay for the fines and pipes. Recently Burlingame's fire dept. got a 7 1/2% raise, but they didn't have money for the sewer repair. I call that bad management. Union workers from AT&T and PG&E make 2-3% raises when police and firemen make 6-8%raises. Big raises makes unions support candidates for re-election. The politicians decisions to use corrosive chemicals the aged pipes, made them corrode faster, is unethical. The East Bay desalinates the Bay so we drink the West Bay's sewage spills. They should be fined and the city politicans should be recalled.If we have an earth quake all the aged pipes will bust.The politicians might want that to happen so they could get a FEMA loan.
