I would love to learn more about the weekend "night club" events that are held for minors at Ya Ya's. i.e., Cost? Ages of those who attend? Who supervises/chaperones? Is the bar open during these events? Positive feedback? Negative feedback? I look forward to your feedback.

There's a $20 cover charge, no bar, waters, a dj, and loads of dancing and sweaty teens ages 14-17 or so. Sunday night only. The restuarant folks supervise. Local police say they have not had any incidents. The kids seem to really like it, but think the $20 is a bit high. I think it's ok for five hours of clean fun.

Thanks Jo Jo, look forward to additional responses. I heard there was an incendent last weekend, so interested in hearing what others know about it.

Why don't you check it out yourself by going into the restaurant and talking to the manager.

Seems that is the responsible way to go.

And if you are unhappy with his/her answer, then let the kids go back to hanging out at the Burlingame/Apple Teen Center or hanging out in the parking lots?

ya ya's is a pretty decent place. at night it can get pretty packed with teens. worst thing you can expect is your kids freaking with some other kids, but it really depends on the crowd. other than that you shouldn't have anything to worry about

On Wednesday nights there is a jazz and blues band that has a young singer and drummer from Burlingame High School. Why not take your kid to dinner there and let them see what other kind of music is available. I saw them last week and they were great. Dorothy Morrison who recorded the hit "Oh Happy Day" is the featured vocalist.

Is that the same band that plays at Bonarda's across the street on Sunday and Monday nights? The Ricardo Scales Trio? I have heard them at Bonarda's last Sunday and they were rocking the place. Giants Baseball player Randy Winn and his family were having dinner with Guy McIntyre from the 49ers. Is Burlingame turning into Beverly Hills with celebrity spottings? Pretty cool! I love that song "Oh Happy Day". Is there dancing on Wednesday nights at YaYa's too or just music?
