Corn syrup tax makes good sense

The problem with the new tax on cigarettes is that it highlights the lack of imagination of our lawmakers.

Massachusetts should raise import taxes on maple syrup from Vermont at least 438%. It would fill the coffers and some pockets with a lot of bills and coins, undermine competitive State of Vermont and diabetes will go south to Connecticut. We need to take care about coffers!!! And do not forget about all other food! Raise taxes now!!! We can do it!!! Yahooooo!!!! Long live the leader of all very simple peoples of the world!!! Vote OHB!!!

It's a great idea, Jim. I assume that you realize that great ideas are not looked on too kindly by the esteemed members of the Massachusetts legislature.

No tax makes sense. Robbing anyone of the fruit of their labor by plundering their profit is stealing. Call it a Tax if you must.

I want to list the reasons why this is such a bad idea, but it pains me too much to think that someone actually thinks that this is a good idea.

If we want to tax things out of existence that we don't like, I suggest we start with Democrats, then liberals, then environmentalists, then Laker Fans, the Yankee fans...

Oh good, another tax.
Must be another Democrat who thinks regulating human behavior can best be accomplished via the power of government to tax.
Mr. Francis, if you don't want to ingest High Fructose Corn Syrup, then I suggest you don't.
But don't go advocating yet another tax which will only enrich government further at great cost to the populace.

Why stop at "n" when there are twenty-five other very fine letters that most people simply do not understand.
For example, a town ending in "Q" would be my first choice if I was going to hate a place.

See GM your not looking at the whole picture would a town that ends in Q have a tax on KY Jelly? Then you would have a reason to hate that town because you hate taxes.
