Maybe ClearChannel and the others can turn over 25% of there stations to "minority" and "public service" programming. All this is is the NAB coating the pockets of the FCC. Just like Comcast and Arlen Specter.

When a massive merger between Exxon and Mobil can be approved at the drop of a hat, one wonders why this is taking so long.

Oh, wait ... I completely forgot about NAB lobbyists greasing the palms of the FCC and threatening to withhold terrestrial radio air time for politicians who support the merger. Silly me. It makes complete sense now.

Move right along. Nothing to see here, folks.

well said by all!!. This is not a monopoly at all. This is as already stated the nab making the fcc wealthy. this is the biggest joke ive ever seen and certainly proves that (not that there was ever a question) that our government can be bought i have both an xm and a sirius subscription and have had both for the last 5 years. As a consumer this merger WILL save me money. And as far as having to make sure a certain number of stations are a minority, dems suck azzzz said it the best!

this is a joke! the oil companies merge & CRUSH the avg joe while congress & the FCC waste their time worrying about a merger of satelite radio companies. the restrictions on these satelite companies is absurd. approve the merge now, no restrictions. this is a pay service if they raise prices they will lose subscriptions. it's called supply & demand. Stern Rules.

Absolutely. What's fair is fair, right?

Except your whole screen name thing isn't adding anything to the discussion.
