GOP had better pay more attention to young voters

Comments on Topix forums : Most political pundits argue that presidential candidates Barack Obama and Ron Paul have been particularly apt at energizing an otherwise apathetic young voting population.

#1 I am a Young Voter and sadly, Most of the Young Voters I know are completely Un-Informed on ANY of the issues. It truly is Style VS Substance

I had a talk with my Girlfriend an Obama Supporter I started to ask her questions of Why she liked Him what Issues she sympathized with

SHE HAD NO IDEA, I didn't mean to make her cry, but because she had never thought about it just voting for him just: because, no reason really.
Part of this is the Medias Love affair with him.

It really is sad, over and over people have NO IDEA what he stands for only this Ambiguous Change he cries for.

I say RESEARCH THE TOPIC OR ****

A basic 3rd grade test should be REQUIRED on what the Candidate believes in, the results of pass/fail determine whether the vote counts or not.

Kids voting need to understand this is not like electing their homecoming kings and queens.

If they had to pass a 3rd grade test on what their politician believes no problem !!!

I think if most people had just a mild Idea what or who they really voted for things would change for the better drastically

I am not a young voter but I plan to support Obama. You would be surprised at what a lot of our young voters understand and see in what he stands for.

A lot of older people refuse to listen and undersand what he saying because they are so fearful of a President of color. I believe he would do a better job than McCain. All I have heard from McCain is a lot of mumbling and criticism of Obama. Neither candidate can change the mess that Bush has put us in overnight and neither can do it alone.

If Obama picks a good running mate, I think he will do just fine.

Look at what the "older" generation gave US, "W" and Cheney! The young folks couldn't do worse than that, heck, a chimp couldn't do worse than that!

Despite the little problem that such a test would be unconstitutional, there would actually be little gained since our real choice in a general election only comes down to two candidates. It would be nice to research and know something about the candidate you vote for, but sometimes the unfortunate best answer is,'I like him because he's not the other guy."
And not that it's any of my business, but if you push your girlfriend to tears over a silly political argument, she needs a new boyfriend.

If you'll notice when the two candidates are addressing a crowd or the media , Obama is talking about the issues facing our country and what we need to do to solve the problems , McCain harps on how bad Obama would be for the country and when on the odd occasion when McCain discusses an issue he mumbles stumbles and goes off in some strange direction .

The main thing I notice when Obama speaks is how his head turns constantly from side to side so he can read the telepromptor.

when he dismantles our military and our country is invaded make sure that they know where your house is. What about his remarks about the O.J. simpson murder which he has not denied? what about not following the norm which is what the mainstream media is putting out that they want you to vote for him? I will not vote for insane obama but i can see that the insane will.
