A $35 million dollar museum renovation

to nowhere, a meaningless ballclub,

and now a downtown distillery.

(Bring back Dillman Rooms, please.

The new wino's will need a place to flop again.)

Getting ready for 1929?

A coffee shop is briefly mentioned in the article, what's that all about? The ABJ writers are horrible!

With that said, I look forward to trying the beer!

Nice picture of a risk taker.
Good luck-- and the food better be good and the beer best be less costly.

DISTILLERY?!!!! Sorry you don't know the difference between a place that produces hard alcohol (DISTILLERY) and a place that produced beer (BREWERY) and... "winos?" Notice they aren't called "beeros"!

Read up on the demographic attracted to brewpubs... they tend to be highly educated persons with >$70K incomes. Hardly a "flop house", those patrons don't spend $3.50+ for a pint of beer, nor $8.00+ for an entree'.

Be happy that an upscale establishment is locating in your city! Most cities with declining downtown areas do not get such a wonderful opportunity.

Another worthless booze expert.

You can't stay home and get drunk, so you do it
in public and risk killing either yourself
(hopefully) or others (on-coming cars, etc.) on
your drive back home.

Real classy.

Aren't you slightly forgetting this so-called
city is the Home of Dr. Bob, the ORIGINATOR of
Alchoholics Anonymous?

Good for the owners. I hope they receive the support they will need to stay open.

Brew it, and they will come.

Just make it GOOD brew... I've tasted far too many "crafts" that taste like "crap."

I'll be checking this one out soon!

Um, hey, naysayers: would you rather see the building continue to stand empty? Because if it's all right with you, I'd like to have another dining option in downtown. You know, prior to the home games for that "meaningless ball club."

Petty is a lovely color on you.

I say bravo, and best of luck to them. Those of you who are excited to see some growth in the downtown area are welcome to join me for the ribbon cutting this afternoon.

BrewPubs are awesome. I believe the one in Youngstown was called the "B & O", and it had some of the best food I've ever tasted. The beers were smooth (and potent, whew), and they had everything from pool tables to banquet halls. I think this one will do very well, and I'll definitely be trying it next time up up in the A K rowdy.

Anyone who takes the time to denigrate people on a website for drinking beer obviously is either drunk on Christianity or an angry woman with an ax to grind. "by any other name", I think I hear your dryer buzzer going off. Go fold some socks.

Work a little HARDER for the sake of all of us that make the area our home. Akron isn't all that bad compared to many other areas. I'm extremely happy to be back.

Welcome to the brewery, I look forward to tasting your beer later today...:)
