Why, because only someone without children could scoff at the idea that a cell phone tower in the vicinity of a playground or school is going to harm the children? I do have children, and they frequently play on those soccer fields. And I recognize that it is hypocritical for parents from St. Hilary to act all up in arms about that tower when they use cell phones and buy them for their spoiled children. Besides, Big Daddy, as he compensatorily refers to himself, thinks he is better than other people, has written incredibly offensive posts, and is the king of the hypocrites - in my humble opinion.

There is no hypocrisy if the posts are read and used in the correct context. So, just to clarify, the building project and cell tower are in no way related. We were committed to the building project long before the cell tower offer was presented to us. During discussions regarding the cell tower it has never been considered as a source of revenue for the building project. Which is why we are re-evaluating the building project. We will only build what we can afford (but thanks for the tip) and we are working hard to not only be good stewards with our congregations pledges to the building project, but not compromise any of our current ministries in the process. This is what the post you responded to was trying to get across. Because we are having to re-evaluate the building project financially, it could be very easy for us to look forward to the cell tower money to help finance it, but we do not believe the money should be used for the purpose. It would be appreciated if we could put the issue of the building to rest and not confuse it with the cell tower. Thanks and God bless!

Clarification -- this is in response to Big Daddy's confusion over cell tower versus building project.

There are alot of people that have kids at both schools. Those that are "high rollers", and those that are looking for the best education for their children. It is not we vs them...they have been trying to work it out, since this article hit in a POSITIVE WAY, outside of media coverage.

Please enlighten us as to the number of kids that are killed and/or injured on cell phone towers each year. Then compare that to the number of kids that are killed and/or injured climbing trees each year. What you will discover is that this isn't about safety at all, but rather about the money. If the Catholics are so concerned about safety, then they should cut down all of the trees on and adjoining their property, as they are a bigger potential source of harm than the proposed cell phone tower.
So are you the ones that cut down those apple trees? You're right the trees are more of a problem then setting up a huge lightning rod. Make sure you send the kids to school with thick rubber boots.

You forgot to mention the most important statistic - number of fur coat wearing, Lexus-driving hypocrites attending Christmas mass there praying for the poor and downtrodden. Too many to count.
Based on past posts from you (with your ridiculous name), I assume you'd be happy to see the tower going up next to a public school.
And how can you lecture about staying on topic, when you ranted on and on about the superiority of your children's private school education over that of public schools in a topic that concerned sports tournaments? Typical Catholic hypocrite. Always preaching at others.
If your children are too precious to spend time in the vicinity of a cell phone tower, and you and your wife, the concerned parent, are so caught up in all the damage the radiation could cause, then I certainly hope you don't own cell phones or talk on them around your children, or provide them to your children, or own a microwave oven, and allow your children to use the microwave oven to make popcorn, and that you don't have televisions in your home or other electronic devices. You need to start a movement to outlaw cell phones and towers nationwide.
If you're so concerned about aesthetics and not offending your neighbors - then stop planting those rows of white crosses all over the front yard of your church. There's nothing worse than heading to Sky-Way for a burger and being forced to think about thousands of dead babies. Ugh.
Wow want to stereotype people look in the mirror. Sorry you can't afford to send your children to a good school. I'm not sure but I think the frequencies are more powerful going through a tower than your own little microwave at home or one cell phone. And about the crosses- good you noticed them and you know what they are for. Maybe you should avoid Sky Way during that time if it bothers you so much. I feel bad for you and your ignorance. Well pray for you.

My point, which you totally missed of course, is that you can't ride both sides of the track...either you need the cell phone tower for your addition or you want the cell phone profits for outreach purposes. All your other comments have nothing to do with my post!

Hey big hypocrite daddy - Faith Lutheran is perfectly within its rights to put up the cell phone tower on their property and reap the financial benefits. That church doesn't have all the high rollers St. Hilary has. Plus, it sounds like they spend it on outreach, rather than pumping it back into "things" and "material possessions" and "big gaudy buildings" for themselves and their children. Let's just hope your little soccer superstar doesn't get his brainwaves scrambled from all that terrible radiation.

If you had even a cursory understanding of the way a cell phone tower propogates radio waves, you would see how foolish you statement really is. Even if you lived next to a cell phone tower, you would come into more contact with EMR from a WiFi router in your home that you would a cell phone tower next door.

Thank you Dr. True Patriot from Wadsworth. It's great that you have ALL of our answers. Our kids are in a much better place now that you have spoken.

You are welcome.

Unlike you, I know better than to talk out of my posterior. You are absolutely clueless, and it shows.

Perhaps Father Brunovsky should ask the pastors of the 8 private Catholic schools in the Cleveland area, that have rented their school yards to cell phone companies, if they are worried about the health of their students?? Would the Bishop allow the towers to be built on Catholic Church property if he thought the children would be in danger??

Faith Lutheran's church counsel has and will act in a very prayerful/thoughtful mannner when they make their final descison.

Get your details before you speak. Most of the Catholic Schools in the Diocese that have cell towers have expansive land. One in Lorain for example, has 29 acres, with 2 cell towers. Makes sense there.$$$ for the parish, and nowhere near the kids. For St Hilary, we are talking YARDs away from where kids play. Also mindful and prayerful is Father Steve.

And, the truth shall set you free! St. Hilary's is just irritated that they are not gettin' the coin! LOL!

As a graduate of an area Catholic high school, how can a Lutheran church teach children an educational program based upon a Catholic school kindergarten curriculum? Then does that make the Lutheran church a faux Catholic church?
No, Religion class is only one part of the overall educational aspect of kindergarten at St. Hilary. There are other things being taught there. Faith Lutheran prepares the children for kindergarten based on the advanced cirriculum tought at St. Hilary.

St Hilary council voted before this article, that if they were offered a cell tower and any money coming from it, it would decline. They are not irritated that they are not getting coin. They are working it out with FL, quietly, away from media attention.
