I remember having a letter to the editor published in the BJ back in about 1975, where I complained about Ticketron adding an unadvertised handling fee of 50 cents to each ticket purchased at Sears in Chapel Hill mall.

Looks like nobody cares to fix this shady biz practice. 33 years is a long time.

Why don't we all print invoices on our computers and send them to Ticketmaster's accounts payable department? An itemized invoice including:

T&T (Time & Trouble) Fee:$3.00 per ticket.

Fuel Surcharge Fee:$10.00 per order.

Credit Card Use compensation fee:$1.00 per ticket.

Macular Degeneration Fund Fee:$5.00 per order. For correcting eye issues stemming from online ordering.

Event Parking Expense Compensation Fee:$8.00.

Surcharge Handling Fee:$12.00. For dealing with their unadvertised fees.

Invoicing Fee:$7.00. For issuing this invoice.

Anyone have any more to add???

This is why I don't bother with live performances anymore. I stopped going to concerts when the "extra" fees were only a few dollars- and were actually reasonable. If more people had stopped attending concerts at that time the fees never would have escalated to the ridiculous point they are at now.

Ticketmaster fees make all the add-ons when you buy airline tickets look cheap!

Why waste the money? You could just listen to WONE because they play Skynyrd about once every half hour or so with a Queen song in the mix too.

But this is Blossom, and parking is limited and out in the boondocks. Find me a bus (if it even goes there) or taxi that will take you there for $4.
Since When is parking limited at Blossom??

I think Ticketmaster/Live Nation would do themselves a favor and just build the fees into the price and not itemize everything.

JulioF- Your post is really funny. Can't think of anything to add, yours is a

Because it would be fraud, a felony. When they do it to us, however, its free enterprise.

It's about to be. The park system just bought up a bunch of the parking area. Apparantly the place holds so many people they don't need that many spaces. I remember the day Phish showed up in September 2000, it was like a travelling carnival came to town in the parking lots at Blossom. Most insane thing I've ever seen at a show. Seriously, and I've seen some crazy stuff over the years.

Sounds like you have never seen The Dead. I never saw Phish, but saw TGD 9 times. Now those were carnivals! Or, so I was told afterwards. LOL!

Never seen the Dead either, but I have been to similar "events" at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville. I guess I could say that THOSE were crazier.

i bought a ticket to see Tom Petty for $65 that ended up being $100. The thing that really ticked me off was that this was supposedly a pavilion seat. The "best available" on line weeks before the concert. when I got there in a driving rainstorm I found my "inside seat" was actually on backless benches just outside of the pavilion. When I complained they tried to blame it on ticketron/. not true. The same week I got the same priced ticket to see NIN at the Q and quess what; it actually cost $65. I left because I'm not paying that kind of money to sit on the lawn. No offer of a refund for their bait and switch. As long as Live Nation is running Blossom, I will not be going back.

This is not accurate either. We tried to purchase our tickets on-line, and by phone. There is a previous post that talks about actually going to Blossom to purchase their tickets and STILL getting charge a convenience fee. FOR WHAT CONVENIENCE?!?!?! He WENT to Blossom. I don't really understand why some of you think this okay, but it's you're opinion you know what they say about opinions??? I need to go run an add for a Corvett for $500.00 and not tell people that there's an assembly fee of $25,000 and a handling fee of $22,000. Pleasure debating with all of you.
I agree. I bought tickets on line well before the concert and supposedly got the best seats available but when I got to the concert there were people who bought tickets at the last minute who had MUCH better seats than me and were charge different fees (less) than I did for buying their tickets on line as well. At the last minute. How is that right?

I think the mean "limited" because you have no other options to park. There is not other parking options in competition.

Venues always hold tickets back for artists, special quests, giveaways, etc. and than release them at the actual show date and time if not used.

Where did I say anything about being able to park somewhere else? You are confusing my comments with someone else.

I was only expanding what someone else was calling "limited" parking at Blossom compared to downtown Cleveland where there are options.

Read the entire conversation you will understand.

Ummm, I did read the entire conversation...All I was saying was there arent any other parking options, like downtown, because there is nowhere to put it on Steels Corners that could be walking distance.

I am glad you finally caught up. Someone said their is limited parking at Blossom (i.e. only a single option) compared to downtown Cleveland with many options. NO ONE has said you can park elsewhere at Blossom, you are the only one to even question this or assume people met differently.
