Full story: The Daily Record

But judging by the Hotline callers, the Scotland gaffer's ears will be burning a full week after the national team's battering in Brussels.

... worst manager we've ever had and he lives in his own little bubble.

He's like a cross between Mike Bassett and David Icke.

" Iain Wylie, Paisley, said: "I would like to see Levein fired immediately.

Then I'd like to see Darren Fletcher dropped as ... Comment?

I actually think the Scots have had a few good players like Chris Burke, Darren Ferguson and young lads like McKay Steven, Johnny Russell of Dundee United and united Ex Goodwillie.

Trouble is giving these young lads the opportunity to gel together and trying to keep on decent manager...

Fergie would be the best choice, well certainly in the past he would have been, but he has pledged his career to Manu United and done wonerful things with them!

Ach well, one day!

Yeah your right, Strachan just has to make them hard to beat first and foremost. The ROI got to the Euros with a very limited squad by just being hard to beat, the football we played was all long ball stuff not pretty to watch but we were hard to beat in the qualifiers for Euro 2012. We have a few decent enough players coming through now so we're starting to play a bit more on the ground, but Scotland should just make themselves very hard to beat, and solid and take it from there. Scotland used to always have a decent team. When the Euro's goes upto 24 teams in 2016 Scotland will have a good chance at qualifying. If the Irish and Scots qualified France wouldn't know what hit it with all the fans LOL....

Yer right mate...ROI have been tremendously hard to beat, and on their day with the very best of their team...they can be unbeatable.

It's gelling it together for Scotland, they need consistency, the same decent manager, and almost the same team, say eight players playing and training alongside each other week in and out for a good while...

Unlikely with club footie in the calendar too I know :(

In truth though, we have no Kenny Dlaglish's...but why the hell does that laddie Chris Burke not get a game?

He was going to be something special IMO.

That is what happens when club managers do not give young lads the proper opportunity and time to polish their skills and temperament more...not fielding young talent enough is also stifling the game.

Think Burke is around 29\30 now, a real waste of talent ...many under the Scotland under 21's are very good quality players...so much so Billy Stark should have thought a wee while back that their skill is now outweighing the need for restrictions into the top squad ...

Field the best of the young now eh?!!

Yeah we were hard to beat throughout the qualifiers for the 2010 WC and Euro qualifiers, the football was ugly, but we were solid enough. Fell apart a bit at the Euro's, team just wasn't good enough, but was a bonus just to get there considering what we had. The Germans turned us over fairly handy in Dublin there a while back, but since then a few new players have come in and the quality has gone up a bit and the football is a bit better to watch.

Yeah exactly thats what Scotland needs a solid unit who are playing together regularly in the internationals. Strachan should try get that going now for the remainder of these qualifiers to prepare for the Euro 2016 qualifiers because with that going upto 24 teams now Scotland will have a great chance to qualify. Yeah Scotland used to always have a few world class players at any one time, the ROI used to always have at least one, a few more in the early 1990's, but now no one who is genuine world class. Think its to do with the influx of foreign players into the Premiership.

Yeah I remember seeing Burke back in the early days when he just started for Rngers and he looked a real prospect, I wonder what happened there, sometimes it doesn't work out. Yeah exactly better to get the young players in now gel them together and prepare for Euro 2016.
