It's getting to the point where season ticket holders will start leaving - including me. A shorter season please!

Some may consider the scheduling problem in the MLS a tired issue, but I know this turns a lot of season ticket holders off and is one contributing factor why some are not renewing.
I am glad your are revisiting this issue Nick and shedding the light on this persistent blemish that is stubbornly stuck on the face of the MLS.

MLS? Isn't that the initials of the Multiple Listing Service for real estate agents?

No one but the Hispanics and a few soccer mom's care about the MLS. Take it south of the border where it belongs.

As Jim Rome says, "If you can't use your hands its not a sport".

Klien is right on-it is about the quality of the product.
I have seen soccer haters and those that simply have not been interested in soccer moved to appreciate it with quality play.
It is not that Americans don't understand the sport, or that the national team does not win enough (have the number of fencing fans gone up in the US because we swept the women's medals in China?). It is simply about quality quality and more quality.
Those of us who love soccer simply have a much lower threshold of how much quality it takes for us to be entertained.
However, put a crappy enough product on the field and even we will stop coming to games.
The MLS must be profitable, and the quality of the game must grow. So there are bound to be some sacrifices. I really hope that the fact that they are putting on low quality games entirely due to schedule conflicts is not because they have done the math and really NEEDED the money.

I totaly agree with having Quality on the field and on the bench. Games should stop on FIFA dates. Players minimum salary should not be 15k. it should be double. Also as a GaLAxy season ticket holder for the last three years, I have seen the scheduling affect my teams ability to get into post season. We all want to have quality on our teams which means Players will play for their national teams also. So stop scheduling league games on international game dates! I dont think we need to have less games. The league should start earlier. In that way insuring that the teams will be ready for international games( Champions Cup, Superliga, SudAmericana). The MLS has to win these Championships if they want to be considered a top league and Make money out of player transfers. We need younger international players in the MLS. That means a larger player cap per team.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Cancer

You feel the urge to move onward, powered by your wisdom: when you're right, you're right. You may feel that any further explanation is unnecessary, but the people you're dealing with might need it spelled out for them. Take the time to draw a picture or use smaller vocabulary words to get your point across, Cancer. A public demonstration will probably prove to be the last word on the subject.
