TechXpress is not a good company, and a BBB rating does not reflect anything about the company other than that they have been around a while and no one knows to post a complaint there. Their BBB rating is high only because their clients don't know they can go there after they have had problems and complain.

I have known a few people who went through TechXpress and were very disappointed (and worse). I've heard of a number more, and witnessed even more switch to other companies shortly after project completion.

Be very sure you want to go through them before you commit, and if/when things go wrong, make sure you visit the BBB and report it.

I agree that Techxpress is not a good company. They focus 100% on marketing and 0% on quality of services. Beware, and do not use them, unless you want to be sorry, and waste a bunch of money.

Brian,

Why don't you advertise on Topix?? You spend lots of money in print ads and could have more Web visibility for less money. A tech company advertising online...that's a concept.

SanLuisGal2,

Anyone who knows web marketing - knows that paying to advertise on third party sites is a waste of money. Unless your target market is small enough to be focused on just one website that is already catering to them the place to invest money is in SEO. Part of SEO is having links to your website on other popular website pages (See Google Page Rank) but ultimately if you can show up on Google (via adwords, page rank, sponsored ads, etc) it will out weigh any banner ads that may be on another page.

Also, most tech companies, and web companies get their advertisement through trade. Think twice before assuming that someone is spending a lot of money on marketing.

Techxpress made the mistake of doing too much trade, and paying too much $ on marketing which is why they were unable to keep their employees happy with bonuses and incentives - they had no extra money.

I found this forum because I am an independent web developer who was looking for information on TechXpress, and why they have been doing so bad lately.

I ran across your comment and had to make a statement so other people aren't mislead. I would not advertise on Topix unless it was free.

You can spend alot of money on SEO with no results because the Search Engines change it up all of the time. It's a game and I don't agree with you about banner advertising because it helps with key word search and linkage that can help SEO.

Everybody knows that the algorithms for search engines are constantly changing. I run a site that gets 1500 unique visitors per month strickly from SEO. I spend about 4 hours per month keeping them on top.

Banner ads are not all bad if they are on reputable sites. The problem is you don't want to pay a lot of money to put a banner ad on a site that has a lower page rank than your own site. It will not help as much, and because the price of banner ads is over inflated (just like print ads) the cost to pay for a banner ad usually does not pay for itself.

Seems Techxpress.net has a lot of complaints here. If people want the best price and don't want to spend $100.00 an hour, you can always find good student programmers for dirt cheap.

Not what I experienced, Techxpress totally lack their customer services and did not finish their work according to the contract but wanted more money and I did not know the site on top of that. Truly discussed with Techxpress.net
