Beware of Oakley USA products, bad warranty issue

Oakley was sold to Luxotica, a very high end, Italian design and production company. They are on a corporate contract that was signed during the selling of the company - to maintain all american production, carry on the same warranty, and remain the same as far as corporate structuring. Oakley bags and shoes carry a 90 day warranty, as mentioned in the card that comes with the box, just because your friend tells you a LIFETIME warranty is in place, doesn't mean that Oakley is obligated to live up to that standard. READ the packaging or insert that comes with the product. Easy as that. Oakley still has military contracts for thousands of products issued per year as standard issue material - I guess the military chose Oakley because of its HORRIBLE product right? WRONG. Oakley is durable, patriotic, and takes pride in its product being manufactured in Southern California. As per the very first comment on this thread - What other company has a backpack that lasts SIX YEARS. get over it. Oakley probably doesn't want someone like you as a customer. The eye wear has a ONE YEAR warranty, also as the warranty card states. The factory however maintains service after the warranty as long as they have easily available parts. No receipt.. your fault. Didn't buy from an accredited Oakley dealer... also YOUR FAULT. Go buy some crap at a mall Kiosk and stop filling forums with your ridiculous ranting. Get a clue before you run your mouth.

Warranty is 1 year. Not 30 days. It is true that Oakley hasnt offered a lifetime warranty since the 80's.

Tightening a screw is of course complimentary, but refurbishing a pair of glasses is free.

PATRIOTIC?! To get the MADE IN THE USA label I'm sure they only have to been manufactured a certain percentage in the US. So an Italian company producing all the parts in China and shipped to America to be assembled ignites your patriotic fervour? Who wouldn't want a military contract? I'm pretty sure the main point for getting such a contract is price. Why are OAKLEY supporters the MOST ONE EYED of any brand? I own 5 sunglass stores and what i love about not stocking OAKLEY in my stores is because I don't get any repairs. When I had Oakley I used to do at least 5 repairs/warranty claims per week, per store, now without them and only stocking quality brands we do on average 10 repairs per store a year.

I've had tons of Oakley stuff since high school and except for one time I've never had a problem with any of it. I own two Oakley watches, the Timebomb and the GMT and the both work masterfully. I have had the GMT for over three years...and it's amazing. I actually cannot believe it's been that long. Yesterday I purchased the ICON Backpack for law school. Hopefully I will know within 90 days whether or not it will hold up carrying around 40lbs of casebooks.

Don't buy Oakley sunglasses they suck! They are way to high priced and if you have a warranty issues they will not cover it period. I guess this is how Jim Jannard owner of Oakley is so rich. He is a billionaire.
Did you know he did insider trading on his stocks and bought his way out of it back in 1996. This is another reason to not buy from a crook "Oakley".
