I don't understand what you consider "vague" in the rule? Everything is clear and explicit. It's enough to read it once to remember. The fact that the ISU software doesn't comply initially to the ISU rules - this is another question. Even a child of 10 is able to make three consecutive mathematical operations. Is it a real problem for a computer program? It will be more honest to recognize the error and not to justify themselves by phrases "Rule 3435 is a basic description of the calculation rules" which makes people laugh

Some software error?? What? The writer needs to include the detail. I was watching the event and I thought Weir won... USFS is doing this on purpose??

The rule is 100% clear. This is rule 353 from the ISU rulebook:
"For ISU Championships, ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events and Final (Senior), the Olympic Winter Games and the Qualifying Competition for the Olympic Winter Games the panel's points for each Program Component are obtained by calculating the trimmed mean of the maximum of nine (9) scoring Judges results for that Program Component. The trimmed mean is calculated in the manner described above in sub-paragraph d);
k) The factored results are rounded to two decimal places and added. The sum is the Program Component Score.
l) In Single and Pair Skating:
i) The panel's points for each Program Component are then multiplied by a factor as follows (same for Junior and Senior):
Men: SP: 1.0 FS: 2.0
Ladies: SP: 0.8 FS: 1.6
Pairs: SP: 0.8 FS: 1.6
The factored results are rounded to two decimal places and added. The sum is the Program Component Score;"

It explicitly states that the scores are averaged, factored, and then rounded, which would give Weir the title. The rules are not vague and USFS refuses to acknowledge this.

I thought Weir won for sure. In any case Weir's performance was far more memorable and artisitc.

Why was Evan 's long program better? Evan messed up many of his landings. Don't the judges deduct these sloppy moves? Evan's program was sloppy, arms flapping. How did this man win? Johnny was much smoother. Judges are not very bright.

I was a bit mad to see that Lysacek won overall. For starters he had not one or two but four shaky landings. By the grace of God he didn't land on his ass. Honestly I wished he had, he's arrogant and in few words a prick. I don't like him like I used to. His attitude made me not to like him. Johnny is more human and was more graceful all the way around. He should had won he was leading by almost two points. What's the matter I am sick of my stomach. Common !!!!!! I am sick with the results and Lysacek should thank the judges WHO GAVE HIM THE GOLD MEDAL THAT WAS NOT RIGHTFULLY HIS.
