"Johnny Weir is denied his fourth straight U.S. menís figure skating crown.

After sitting second following Thursdayís short program, Weir finished fourth in the long program and settled for third overall and a bronze medal. The 22 year old, who trains at The Pond in Newark, struggled throughout his free skate and fell once.

The gold went to Evan Lysacek. He was in first after the short program and skated a flawless long program to earn his first U.S. menís crown.

Ryan Bradley jumped past Weir for second and the silver medal.

" Wow, that is an humbling feel, JohNNY, boy. I guess, he thought he had it in the BAG. See, Ryan Bradley surpassed him, an unfavorable skaters. It is about time Johnny, ge boy gets humble and stand in awe of somebody else. It happen to a skater that gives the Russians to much praise. I guess, ye say, Johnny," If I just give the Russians skaters/coaches their dues, it will somehow happen for me somehow." I have heard Johnny, ge boy that ye say you skate like a Russian. I guess, ye failed like one too. Boy, did it happen, Johnny, gigi boy. You HAD the MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT A RUSSIAN COACH and skated like, YE SAY. Oh, the element of surprise, Johnny, gigi boy, is better; the element of a (Russian)coach.

I guess, ye thinks ye ARE one in spirit, Johnny, gigi boy. If I wear an old USSR's jacket, I will become one. Whatever will ye do now, Johnny, gigi boy. Time to be yourself, Johnny, gigi boy. You have put Russian skaters/coaches on high pedals, and where did it led ye, to failure.

Your methods stinketh! If I act LIKE it is so; then, it will become so, not! You skate like a Russian, what a joke is that? Glad someone who acted like himself earned the MEDAL. Overly confident, get ye no where, Johnny, gigi boy. Ye need to QUIT TRYING TO BE SOMEONE YE ARE NOT, a RUSSIAN, because it is getting ye no where, Johnny, gigi boy.

Was that post supposed to make sense or were you intentionally trying to read stupid. Johnny Weir has never tried to act like anything other than himself. Having an admiration for the Russian school of figure skating and all that it has brought forth to the sport does not make one 'fake.' And the idea that Evan is true to himself with all his carefully constructed media spin is laughable. It will be a cold day in hell when Johnny Weir is ever in "awe" of Evan or his bland soul-less skating. Please.

I hope you don't mind my responding..Eddie and make sense are not compatible...and I LOVE Johnny Weir..his skating and his refusal to conform to expectations..he's cool..just being Johnny..I would love my kids to emulate him and just be themselves and do what they do best..
You're right...Johnny has no reason to stand in 'awe' of anyone..nor does he particularly seem to care if others stand in 'awe' of him..I don't but I dearly love this young man..

I take issue with the statement "Evan's bland soul-less skating." In addition, if you have ever read anything about Evan, you would know that he does not have "carefully constructed media spin (which) is laughable." Evan is a total package skater. He has a tremendous work-ethic with total dedication to training. Something Johnny woefully lacks. Johnny's natural talent carried him only so far on the national scene, but left him flat on the international scene (unless you didn't notice). Now that it is time to play hard ball, Johnny cannot measure up. He had better face it if he wants to go any further in this sport. It is not even about emulating the Russians. If he did, he would be training as the Russians trained. Furthermore, Johnny hates the new, or rather, not so new now, CoP. The judging system is not going to be changed for him. Evan is the all-around skater who can skate a technical, plus a "soulful" program and win points in both areas. Evan also likes to be on the cutting edge of competition. He is truly a competitive skater. Competition brings out the best in him. He does not spend his down time modeling in runway shows, appearing in embarrasing photo shoots, attending Oscar parties. Before a major competition you will find him at the Toyota Center in LA training. Whereas Johnny can be found in NYC or Boston doing whatever, and, of course, shopping. I do not fault him his interests. But in this sport there is a choice to be made. Either choose to train and compete or choose to go pro and skate ice shows and pursue other interests. I think Johnny is better suited for the latter. Evan does have carefully constructed goals to get him where he wants to be and that is National, World, and Olympic Champion. I believe he has what it takes to do it. Johnny needs to have re-evaluated his goals, his lifestyle, and his training discipline for this coming season. If he wants any success at all, I sincerely hope that he has. He has a major talent and I think it would be a shame to throw it away before it is fully developed. But, sad to say, I predict Johnny is finished. I just don't think he has what it takes to fight his way to the top again. He would have to come out and be absolutely, totally beyond brilliant to dethrone Evan Lysacek. Evan has become the USFSA's new poster boy, and they like it that way.....something that Johnny never was.

What on earth are you people talking about? Nothing that I can see remotely relates to the topic. Get a life and start making comments that make sense. All you are doing is slinging hash at each other. Both Johnny and Evan are elite athletes and should be treated as such with respect for what they have achieved. What have you people ever achieved at the same level? I hope you have noticed that Johnny has done some serious rethinking and evaluating of his career, and has made a major coaching change. It will remain to be seen what happens next....if he will be able to pull it together and maintain the discipline to really train. His new Russian coach will be no Priscilla Hill, as great a coach as she is.
