Sure helps when the Russian coaches concentrate on the world and don't bother with Russian skaters. It really helps not to have top-notch skaters from Russia to challenge the Likes of Brian Joubert and Stephan Lambiel.

Oh but it is so good for Russian skating for Russian coaches to help Brian Joubert, Jeffrey Buttle and Daisuke Takahashe. I would guess that Russia needs coaches who look around themselves, and say nyet to helping out the ISU and who will worry about Russian skating and not babysitting the world's skaters.

Boy, every blog is .... to a Russian subject line blog....if/when Plushenko comes back, where is it written that he or a Russian will be on the top! Some skaters who never had a Russian coach(es) may led, like a Canadian fan brought to light on another forum. Many are read blogs for what they are. Disgoring propaganda is what it is.

Boy, Joseph Stalin did create a mess for the mentality of his countrymen! I am glad that no Russian won or we will really hear arrogant bragging about mere men.

Boy, someone should make a movie about Russian culture entitle, "What Makes Russians Think they are the Best". Who can really act that arrogant, is beyond me?

To Sk8r Girl,

It appears that Peggy Fleming was Right. "Ice is a very slippery thing." It appears that many of the moves on ice especially the quad are very difficult on the ice. So it takes special training, hard work and special talent to win. And time to rebuild a skating team but It will happen.

It appears that the Russian figure Skating coaches are doing a great job of taking care of the worlds skaters whatever their nationality. They are the true champions and deserve medals as well.

Yes, a Canadian was the men or ladies to do a Quad, so Jeffery Buttle has copied a Canadian, not a Russian truly. Way to go, Buttle, you are like Kurt Browning, now!

To Sk8r Girl,

I would say that the most important thing for a figure skater is to have a great coach and good consistant coaching. I think that with the
Russian coaches coaching the world and raising the level of figure skating so high that unless one gets that combination of a great coach and consistent coaching, that a skater cannot achieve a high level of making those difficult jumps.
with the point system counting up each difficult move, a skater cannot afford to miss anything.

Joubert has had great Russian coaches including
Alexi Yagudin and it shows in his consitentcy in the jumps and in the impovement in his footwork.

As a skater, how do you see it?
