It looks like the Canadian men are having 1,2,3 dreams as well. Emanuel Sandu has showed himself to be brilliant when he's on.
Jeffry Buttle is armed with a Russian coach, and they all claim they are working hard.

Could they be thinking that with so many olympic champions having retired that perhaps this year could be their year too.

So many hopes and dreams all over the world, and the one who skates best will win. Well, it seems like many think this will be a good year for them. We shall see, we shall see.

Yikes!!!

The pressure is on. In the past I usually focus on the ladies event and the men event, depending on who wins; and to watch their strong powerful skate as well. However this competition has me all reved up.

Stefanya, as a result of our blogging,I plan on wacthing the dance component as wel as the pairs (not just a [particular team) in its entirety with additional zeal. Ofcourse I will have my eyes glued on the Russians as well as the Americans and Canadians. It will give me more "meat' for our discussions. I am very excited even as I typed.

Hoping for an American sweep in all of the disciplines.(I can dream....then again, you never know.)

Exactly Sk8r Girl,
I'm dreaming too, for a miracle because the demise of Russian skating needs a miracle along with all the hard work and talent. Its just so unfair in my opinion. I don't expect too much this year but very soon in a year or two.

Well I can dream as well.

To Sk8r Girl,

Since the level of difficulty has been raised thanks to the Russian coaches coaching everyone in the world, it is more difficult for anyone to win, and there is no guarantee that last years winners will win. But I am taping the results and will watch only those who interest me.

May the best skater er, coach win.

To Sk8r Girl,
You are right and it is all that army of Russsian coaches fault. with the Russian coaches teaching everyone, sooner or later, with everyone having a
Russian coach, or having had a Russian coach or about to get a Russian coach, the figure skating of the entire world has been raised up to a very high level, making it even more difficult to insure results for anyone.
Now you understand why Alexi Yagudin and Yevgeni Plushenko were exchanging titles. Now the entire world is involved.
I wonder why they don't show more medals ceremonies.
I think the worlds and especially the medals ceremonies should be shown in Russia, and the program repeated at least two or three times, to insure that all Russians get to see those results.
Superimposed on the medals ceremonies or in a split screen, they should show the rapturous and gleefully proud faces of the Russian coaches who helped get them there in the winners circle.
Wonder if the Russians will be happy to be exporting their culture and just stand back and let the world win, while their skaters sit on their hands and watch their coaches coach the world to victory, because I don't think that Russians back home are applauding those efforts.
Yes definitely, the Russian coaches should share in the Gold medal winning ceremonies in a split screen, especially as many of them have not immigrated to the Us and Canada but are JUST WORKING HERE.

A couple of months ago, I was presented with a complete list of Canadian skaters and who there coaches were. While it is true that the vast majority of them did not YET have a RUSSIAN COACH, I DID POINT OUT AT THAT TIME THAT MOST OF THE ONES WHO WERE GETTING GOOD RESULTS DID.

Now, stipulating that there is NO ABSOLUTE IN ANYTHING ON EARTH, the rest of those figure skaters will be scrambling to get their dibs on a
Russian coach, especially if Buttle wins or remains in second.

Plushenko, where are you? Russia needs someone to spoil this LOVEFEST of the world enjoying the best figure skating coaches in the world to help them win while Russsians are......

Sorry, Russian coaches, I don't think you need to go that far to prove that Russian culture is great indeed.

But do go on doing what you are doing. I'm waiting for Russian coaches, who will VOLUNTARILY remain in Russia and gladly just coach a Russian team to challenge EVERYONE IN THE WORLD. Any you if anyone knows that not only is that prospect POSSIBLE, but PROBABLE.

Yes, go Jeffery Buttle, at least, you have followed in a Canadian footstep ( Kurt Browings was the first male to do a Quad in compeition). Russians have done all the first, so they are not that great after all!!!

o Sk8r Girl,

Isn't it nice to exercise all of the keys on the keyboard. It's nice to know that the scroll key is limber from plenty of exercise. I hope you watch the figure skating and let me know who impressed you in the worlds and why. As a figure skater you will probably pick up on things non-skaters wouldnt.

After I read this article, I thought of you. We may differ on opinion however our previous blogs indicate that you have a receptive mind.

3/22/07)- All three American ice dancing teams are in the top 10 after Thursday's original dance at the 2007 World Championships. Using the international judging system to their advantages, Team USA racked up level fours on every element to stake its claim as one of the strongest overall teams in the worlds.

I can't wait!!

With the new ISU rules, everyone starts at zero, but apparently, Russians are not satisfied with starting at zero. Perhaps, they want points for being Russian or want to recieve points that they suppose others should not recieve. Perhaps, the judges need to kiss-up to them. I guess the kissing-up is over and they have to start at zero, like everyone else. What a pity, it is, indeed!

To Sk8r Girl,

No apologies Sk8r Girl, you know that I know the truth and am not afraid to face it. Nor will I turn ugly because you speak your mind.

The article proves what I have been saying.
For the past 16 years, all of America's ice dancers have been coached by Russians and the same Russian coaches. Having Great Coaches and Russian Coaches are the best, means the level of figure skating has been raised, but it has been raised all over the world.

At the same time Russian figure skaters have been neglected. But it took nearly 20 years for the lack of coaches and training of new Russian figure skaters to catch up with the many great figure skaters Russia had already trained. No new generations have been trained so none at the present time are stepping up to the plate.

Except for in ice dance where a couple of Russian coaches who have been teaching other countries ice dancers, are now concentrating on coaching a couple of Russian ice dancers and the results are beginning to show. After the Original Dance Domnina Shabalin are in fourth and Khoklova and Novitski are in seventh. They have already hopcscotched over several couples who have had longtime consistent training by Russian coaches.

If you notice there are a couple of Canadian teams as well who are in the top ten, and they are coached and have been coached consistently by
Russian coaches (Dubreil and Lauzan are not included because they have never had a Russian coach but they are 32and 31 and have been in ice dancing a long time.)

So Russia is fighting back with new younger coaches from Russia, and they are competing, against an army, Johann said 186 Russian coaches who are based inmerica and are coaching everyone but are easily accessible to Americans and candaians as well as the world.

Facts, are facts, Sk8r Girl as well as Truth is Truth. And as they say the devil is in the details.
The biggest detail is the fact that the Russian coaching have made such a big difference in American skating as well as the skating of the world.

This fact is not well-known because people like to pretend that Americans or
candians or French or Japanese have gotten better and "nin't it great" But the truth is it was not done without massive and long time (16) years of great coaching from the world's best coaches THE RUSSIANS. And at the same time it is THE RUSSIAN COACHES who have sabotaged RUSSIAN SKATING.

Adults and reasonable people can see the truth and face it. Unlike immature idiots who scream ain't America great and at the same time deny over and over and over that it was the Russian coaches who made the difference.

Yes it is disappointing for me right now, because the Great tradition of Figure Skating has been "Stolen" by the world, with the voluntary help of the RUSSIAN COACHES who screed the Russian Skaters. But Russia and Russian skaters will survive.

Russians have a way of rising like the Phoenix from the ashes and once they put their mind to it, New coaches will take the place of the"traitorous" ones and in a few years watch out, because even the "taitorous" caches will be looking over their shoulder to see what the Russian Coaches who voluntarily remain in Russia are doing.

To Sk8r Girl,

I have my way of speaking and use of certain words, which I have put quotation marks around because they are my words to express how I feel about it. I know that you understand what I mean. I know you will not go into 500 blogs to chastise me for using those words, because you are too mature. But even if anyone does (wink, wink as you know they will) it will not cause me to change those words.

Besides those blogs (wink wink) are designed to try to appeal to NEW bloggers who do not yet understand the situation that is occuring on this blog, but don't worrry they will learn fast.

Boy, some are absolutely ridculous in their statement. So, Russian coaches suppose to stay in Russia to be great and continue to be great!???? Now, the ones that stay will be greater, than the ones in the USA, who is teaching the world.??? Now, what soil that they do it on where coach will make a difference.??? They have to go back or stay in Russia in order for the pHOENIX myth to be applied to them.?? Land is making a difference! They have to remain in Russia to be great! Where is it written that the ones that stay will be greater, than the ones that left.?? They ones that stay may never caught up to the ones that left! Boy, some STATE THAT THERE ARE not ABSOLUTES TO EVERYTHING BUT ?.She SURE state things, as if ?/her words are. He/? contradict ?/herself!

Read between the lines!!! The world has STOLEN RUSSIAN COACHES, and how did, it do that!! They got tried of Russia's Stalinistic ways! They were no longer controlled by a dictorial GOVERNMNT! Now they are free! Boy, how is that stealing, it is beyond what I can see!

Idoits are ones that compare real things to fables, such as the pHOENIX! To be truthful, no one will have stayed if Russians would not have to rely on income from poor individuals, than a state-paid income. If communism, could not hold them together; therefore, how could capitialism do something that communism could not do, it is beyond me! It all boils down to this people, some are declaring that Russians is great at everything, and the rest of the world should be envy or jeolous of Russians. See the arrogance in how ?/she writes. It is not hard to read between the lines. Humility is less protrayed than arrogance, if not at all. Americans have a way of soaring like an EAGLE, I may say, but at least, an EAGLE IS REAL!!! LOL!!!

Americans have won in the past without the help of Russian coaches; hint, history can and will be repeated. I hope that Americans, Canadians, Japaneses, and all others stop believing this Russian Manifesto propaganda garbage that Russian coaching makes makes a difference. One iswhat one believes! It is a mind game some are playing! Why haven't Russians done all the firsts in every sports, then? Arrogant people cannot see a simple fact(s), only themselves in the highest places!!!
