Royce McLemore's Women Helping All People Landscaping does a great job. I l live in Marin City and I see the qork they do everyday. They also hired local youth. I think that it is a personal issue with marin county housing authority against Royce McLemore because she speaks out about the injustics that they try to pull on the residents and she keeps them honest something they have a hard time doing! The battle is not over! Everyone pray!

There is nothing like paying your family members $30.00 an hour to pick up leaves. I hope they give the contract back to Mclemore caue if they do I am going to apply for a job!

Sorry but this is not Royce. I am on the golden gate village resident council. I know what is going on in this community.

You may take working for Marin City lightly, but just wait and see. Royce has done an excellent job in securing jobs for the community and holding down small problem situations in the community since the beginning of her program. I wish the SF people well, but I do believe Royce should have first crack at any job in the community. SF will soon discover that cleaning up in Marin City may prove to be a little more than just picking up garbage!!!! HANG IN THERE ROYCE I'm sure the community will have you back in a very short time.

My guess is that you will get what you pay for in return for such a low-ball bid.
Is there any accountability for work done or will this go under the rardar? Is there a process in which residents can comment on the work? Who is it that will be working for almost half of the cost and shuttled in and out of town? The differences we're seeing between distribution of funds between workers and supervisors in Marin County is similar to the attitudes between tax payers and Wall Street bankers, when it comes to disparity.

would everyone rather pay 340K for gardening and trash or 150K for gardening and trash pickup.

its that simple.

the open bid process worked well for Marin and should make you wonder about other less transparent bid processes out there in government land.

Why are they bidding on a maintenance contract for Marin City? Why wasn't Royce just asked to work for whatever the County was willing to pay. Maybe Royce would have agreed, but she didn't have the chance to except a offer, because a offer was never made. After years of co-existing with the County one would think the County would at least give Royce the first shot/offer at any contract regarding cleaning up Marin City. Why should she have to make a bid!!! I say, County MAKE A OFFER!!

I have known Royce for many years and I am also the Mother of two of her grandchildren Emanuel McLemore III and Aijha Monique Yvanna McLemore and I know that she has championed tirelessly for the underpriveleged and unrecognized for years shame on the individuals that took away the landscaping and maintenance contract for her you should be ashamed of yourselves Who but Royce has demonstrated through action and not just empty promises that most of the pseudo activists in Marin City have shown over the years!
