Hello All,

I am planning a trip to SF but rather than talk to tour operators in the UK, I would really like some advice from those of you lucky enough to live in such a wonderful part of the US.

Some pointers would be nice, I have heard that it's great to stay in Fisherman's Wharf but that it is very much geared towards the tourists (which of course I will be!) but I have heard that Union's Square is great for night life. Any thoughts?

The trip will be about ten days long, maybe fourteen. I love the arts, good food (and wine!)and wouldn't mind catching a Giants game too. Tour Operator's here recommend that we buy tickets in advance of the trip, would you agree with this?

I would appreciate any tips or useful advice - just hope that someone gets back to me! I have long thought about relocating from the UK to San Francisco so this could be the start of something very exciting.

Best Wishes,
V.
