Interesting, was Myanmar part of the super rich good gov, bad gov scheme? Burma is one of the world's largest teak exporters. It is also a producer of pearls, rubies, and other gems. Extraction of oil and gas deposits is mostly funded from abroad though public pressure in the West has seen a drop in investment in Burma, quoted from World Desk Reference.
