Why not? Why is this specific activity banned while our constitution ensures us " life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness"? We are supposedly a rational society whose moist sacred laws CLEARLY guarantee separation of church and state. Why do other progressive cultures which are more mature than allow such practices while we continue to ostricize those who merely seek hedonistic pleasure. Bravo SF.

Why does SF bother to have laws against anything? It's a beautiful city...until you look closer and see all the trash, the streets littered with bums, the graffitti everywhere, the drug needles in the park (provided at taxpayer expense), the obscene parades that are held frequently, and the constant verbal assaults by council members (board of supervisors officially) against the police and military. Sodom and Gomorrah couldn't hold a candle to SF. Welcome to liberal land where anything goes.

Oh this one is almost too good...
Without even going into the obvious links between the ultra-left and hoes, the self-degradation, blaming others for their problems, dragging down those above to lower the median rather than rise above on one's own, and the Obama/Jackson special...the (now legal and seemingly encouraged) victimization syndrome...one can point out that indeed, S.F. seems to encourage the sex workers to continue on their paths of self-destruction.

Since S.Fran wants to ban the military and will not contribute to the maintenance of our national security, here is a suggestion. Send the crack hoes to give freebies to the Sadr army and Al Quaeda in Iraq...since their religion prohibits using condoms they can all die of AIDS.
