I am a young professional who recently picked up a job a small startup and I feel that I need some professional "coaching" to help me progress in my career. I do not have any family friends that are in my same field and I don't live in the city. I'm curious as to how all of you began your relationship with your mentor (yoda, miagi, etc etc)

Mentoring is something that you actually grow into. Over the past 45+ years of owning and operating small to medium sized businesses, I have found my self on many occasions talking with other business owners and their staff about the journey and all of its ups and downs.
My "Mantra" these days is basically "Been There, Done That" especially in the area of sales and marketing and business management.
I now mentor others in their journey in both business and personal development.
