well, my dad used to fish off the little beach at the end of van ness. near the tunnel. once there was a sub breaking water and coming up off the pier and a british tourist hollered to his friends and asked one of the inevitable italianate fishermen there " paaaardun meee, is that a U boat?", to which the little calabrese replied " Noh, she's a no mine, I'ma joosta loook".
