Help identifying bone

I found this part of a skull near my house at a river in very shallow water. It is near woods as well. I have showed it to several people and no one has been able to properly identify it. I have had several guesses however upon comparing it to other skulls of the same animal it has turned up nothing.
Would LOVE some help please.

That is very strange indeed how large is it?

It is roughly about 4 inches long. The top where it is rounded to the bottom where the teeth begin is about an inch. Not very big, but judging by the shape the teeth are in it is older. The teeth look much whiter in the pic than they actually are. I am guessing it was a plant eater because the teeth are pretty dull.
