I am scared of elbows. I attract them in a weird way. I once broke my nose from an elbow and I have gotten plenty of black eyes from them.

I seemed to have developed a fear of elbows when travelling on crowded subways... I'm putting this down to the fact that I'm 5 months pregnant and have just recently got kind of huge...

oh i love my joints, but elbows.. are like a stab of uncomftorableness in my chest.. and i will begin to panic if trapped in a car with someone who has lanky arms and a bony elbow.... i almost bout tuck-n-rolled one time this was happened, id be too embarrased to tell anyone i know about this problem
especially the person i want to get away from cause of thier elbow.. they might tease me and stick it in my face and .. that hurts me for DAYS :(
I have the same problem you have (sort of). I'm afraid of elbows and I told my friends and they stuck their elbows in my face. It was terrible. So I think you've got the right idea not telling any friends. But maybe if you get therapy to help concor(sp?) your phobia, that might help.

I have an irrational fear of elbows.
Not necessarily seeing elbows..
But uh, I'm more afraid of someone /touching/ MY elbows.
I can't stand it.
The thought of someone rubbing any elbow does creep me out. Makes me feel uncomfortable and whatnot. But touching MY elbow is even worse, or implying that they will.
Just simply disgusts me and makes me feel horrified.

If someone even pretends to try and touch my elbow I freak out.
As in scream and have the urge to run away and hide.

I can't even explain this to it's full extent.
It's just horrible.
I Hate Some Words

I can't stand to hear certain words, usually names of body parts or pertaining to them or certain medical procedures!

I also can't stand the way so many younger people use such incorrect grammar and mispronounce certain words. "Eggs" is one for starters, then those who brag they "eat healthy" rather than healthfully. A few years ago, it seemed all you heard people saying was "as well" instead of also and it was like fingernails on a blackboard to hear someone say something like, "as well, Mary and Susan went with us."

Now, it seems like every other word out of the uneducated non-talented "stars" of the reality shows such as the Kardashians (other than the "F" word and other swear words) is amazing and excited.

Watch almost any guest on a talk show and they'll start off by saying in a phony tone of voice, "oh I'm so excited to be here and my new movie, book, CD, co-star or whatever else they are pimping is "amazing."

These people in the public eye are sad examples of the lack of education they have and it is no wonder so many of them lose all their undeserved money after they have "made it."

I am rather new to QVC and have become addicted to watching it and some other shopping channels as I'm so sick of the reality and talk shows and there isn't much else on other than the depressing news.

However, I was so disgusted the other day when I saw Linda Dano appearing as a guest hawking some of her "finds" for the home! I used to like her and her style of dressing when I'd see her on "The View" giving tips or showing off whatever it was she was puttering around with at the time. She seemed a little manly to me but other than that was okay and not as bad as some of the others.

Almost every item for sale looked like something you could easily find at Pier Nine or Big Lots for much less money. Aside from the rather cheesy collection, she used "hell" and "damn" at least several times while talking about an item she was proclaiming elegant enough for even HER to have in HER OWN HOME! LOL! Her swear words just cheapened the whole presentation as she did while interrupting the hostess of the segment by parroting the comments already made.

I can't stand the way Elisabeth Hasselbeck and some others mispronounce the word "tour".....sounds like they're saying they went on a tore on their vacation!

These dummies really look foolish and should brush up on their basic education, which most seem not to have much of.

Joan Rivers was good when I saw her recently and think she made a funny comment about the elbows being the first part of the body to show age.

Well PITY the poor people who have to sit next to you and your pregger both of whom are INVADING THEIR SPACE!

All you people with kids seem to think everyone should bow down and cater to you and your darn kids! Most of you are sickening, rude, have no manners and are lousy parents.

Please take a parenting class before you deliver and read as many books on manners and child care as you can.

And watch out for KNEES!

Well how would you feel if they touched ONE ELBOW with one of their hands and ONE KNEE with the other? Would that cancel out the elbow creepiness? Try it....might work like batteries. You have to have a negative at one end and a positive at the other in order for an item to work properly.

You are an elbow abuser!!! What's wrong with you? I know two people who would be VERY angry if they saw it. I used to abuse my elbows, but I learned to help them have rights, such as the right to rest on the table. I hope you learn to respect them!

I am seriously shocked to read all of these comments. I thought I was the only one with this weird phobia!
Searching I found it is called: Ichicascadiggaphobia - fear of elbows
Since I was little I could stand my sister's o anybody else's elbows touching any part of my body. It disgusted and annoyed me in so many levels it was unbelievable.
Now that I'm 23 the sympthoms have increased. Everything I do day by day is focused on 'avoiding elbow contact'. I ADORE my elbow and only MY elbow. It protects me from the touch of other elbows or things that feel like elbows: the pointy sides of bags, books, desks, knees and so on. When I'm in a bus, I choose where to sit depending on how the person next to me is goig to sit or move. I sit in such a wai that his o her elbow doesnt touch me, an if it starts to touch me, I feel such anxiety, short breathing and even start to cry. I became paranoid. It's annoying.
I also cannot touch other people's elbows.
