I hate people who want to be just like me

I don't know if this make me a selfish person or not.But for a year now, there is a girl who is my classmate who wants to follow my foot step, be like me. It is getting on my nerves when she tells me how much she wants to do the same things I did in the past. I am about 5 years older than her from same country, more working and personal experiences. we are in the same master program, but this is my second one, but her first.

I know she look at me as a big sister. But what I did in the past, I worked hard to get it, and I proud of it. I like to be different from others. I don't like to follow a trend.

Now, she is doing an internship in the same place I did before, stays in the same apartment where I used to live.She keeps telling me how much she want to follow my footstep of working in an international organization, get a second master. And tonight, she told me that she is dating a guy with the same name as my long-time boyfriend. And this guy apparently is from the same country as my guy. She is so happy to tell me. BUT once again, I can't stand that. Why, why? Can't she just be herself and do what she wants, what she like.

I don't know how to cope with it anymore. I try to stay cool as I am more mature than her. But still, I just hate it.

Any suggestion please.

WOW I know what you mean. Same thing has happened to me. But you'll feel better if you stop being her friend and forget about her! Just avoid her so that you can avoid these feelings. What you can do is continue to be yourself!
It might sound mean, but it's what I did. Hope this is helpful.
