<quoted text>We're compelled to put labels on things ... I label the observed Natural World Un-enhanced by a Supernatural Component ... Mother Nature. Not a god, just a thing. I've never had the pleasure or privilege of learning anything from a Professor ("perfessor" in Texican) which means that I am not floundering in the morass of their misconceptions nor overly adorned in the depths of their knowledge. I have, however, taken of life and the information accessible to me in heavy draughts!! I've recently learned a bit about 'Spinoza's God' which sounds like what you may be alluding to. I think we should try to avoid anthropomorphizing Nature. Calling it 'Mother Nature' is me doing exactly that. Oh well.

They evolved by the process of genetic mutation caused by environmental background radiation impinging upon biological feature encoding molecules. Very occasionally, these mutations result in a physical feature or characteristic which endows the recipient organism some reproductive advantage over it's fellows. This advantage enhances the organism's survival odds and the new feature is 'naturally selected' to be passed on to subsequent generations. It's simple, it's all natural ... and it works!

You mean my take on the Magical Creation thing? Prove it somehow? LOL. It stands to reason. The 'creation myth' would be millions of pages long ... "And on the ten billionth day, God created cilia and on the ten billionth and one day, God created paramecium" ... it would go on and on. Magic would be simple but undecipherable, nature is complex but analyzable.

One of the cool things about being an uneducated 'Blue Collar Philosopher' is I'm not accountable. I have no reputation to uphold, no one to impress, no Alma-mater to embarrass. I got nothing to prove. If it makes sense, think about it. If it doesn't, reject it. I'm here for the entertainment value.
I see. Your now nothing about me, yet you see fit to criticize my higher education, which consists of a Master's Degree and a Doctorate Degree, when you never even obtained higher education. That makes as much sense as the rest of your arguments.

You're an antisocialistic educated person preparing for deportation and you cling to ancient superstitions. Your persona here on Topix speaks volumes!! I admire intelligent folk and enjoy their company. Sadly, education does not necessarily imply intelligence. You seem smart enough. Forgive me my unqualified criticisms ... maybe I'm just jealous. Too late for me to do anything about my education now, I have trouble remembering where I left my keys. You, perhaps could change. We could always use another smart, educated person fighting for truth, justice and the Atheist way. I'm sure I'm more of an embarrassment. Oh well.

Lol. Deportation? Too hilarious! We know where your priorities lie.

You said all that, not me.

BTW, it is never too late to better yourself. Thinking otherwise is a cop out.

If not 'deportation'... what then? Prepping for the End of the World? Isn't that abbreviated ETW or EoTW or something? I considered myself 'bettered' when I free myself from bondage. First the bondage of religious dogma, now the bondage of slaving for 'the man'.

if they ever isolate such a particle and get it to study,I wonder what they'll find out it's made of when they split it apart? Remember, at one time they thought the atom was the smallest possible particle!

The Higgs Boson has already been observed and now they are looking for the 'next big thing'... magnetic monopoles or gravity waves. Who knows what wonderful technology spin-offs or new gadgets will emerge from these cutting edge inquiries? Er ... probably not much. They got to play this stuff up to get a less-than-enthused public to fund their fabulously expensive tool kits. Don't get me wrong! Research into these fundamental questions are among Mankind's most noble endeavors.

I don't know if they can smash the atom up into any smaller pieces. I guess they could ... but it's gonna take a bigger accelerator.
