This will just add more tax dependent workers to state government. What part of "shrink government" do Panagiotakos and Meehan not understand? Haven’t these schools burned enough stimulus dollars already?

Interesting:

The senator who received the most per diem money in 2010 is Sen. Benjamin Downing (D-Pittsfield) with $6,570
&
The worst roll call attendance record belongs to Sen. Benjamin Downing, D-Pittsfield, who missed 43 roll calls (81.1 percent roll call attendance record).

Unfortunately Downing is unopposed & has a free ride to another 2 years in office!!

Taxpayers could use someone to represent them at these meetings!!

Starting a pharmacological program for both Amherst and Lowell will help the economy in the long run by giving more people the option of getting their degree in that field. Since it would be cheaper to attend either UML or UMA graduates of the proposed program will come out with less debt, which gives them more disposable income that will go back into the economy. Another fun fact the UMass System used the stimulus money to keep costs down for students, which doesn't hurt the economy either. You should really think before you post anything here.

I really hope that the Pharmacy program goes through! I would definitely be interested in building a career in that field.
