What if? Long Beach wonders, 'Could it happen here'

Mar 13, 2011 Full story: Press-Telegram 37

Could a tsunami like the one that devastated Japan happen here? What would happen to Long Beach and surrounding areas? Would the breakwater be enough to protect the ports and the city? Many area residents may be asking themselves these questions as they watch the heart-wrenching, almost unbelievable footage of the death and destruction left in the ...

You don't know what you're talking about. Los Angeles was in the middle of a "silent strike" by officers of the entire county, due to their feeling that they were being unfairly criticized by the press and local leaders regarding their dealings with black people. This meant they adopted a "catch and release" program when it came to arresting blacks for just about anything. This went on for many months, the black gangs grew large fast, and the crack dens multiplied. The "riots" were organized gang members and those loosely affiliated with them equipped with cell phones, doing what gang members would do using the Rodney King incident as a "get out of jail free" card. The negroes who beat Reginald Denny went on to commit more crimes because they were gang members. Note that the "rioting" only took place where gangs were in full effect. New York City had zero rioting after the Rodney King event because black gangs were not nearly as organized as in other parts of the country. When reporters would try to interview gang members, they knew to yell "rodney king" and all sins would be forgiven. It was a concerted act by criminals with cell phones, and nothing in any way related to "black rage" unless you add a healthy dose of crack to the mix.
Since the "strike" by police was ended perhaps a year after the Rodney King incident, career criminal blacks were again going directly to jail, instead of being let off the hook by the police, and blacks are no longer an overhanging threat, because most of the blacks who "raged" are now either in jail or dead.
Try doing some research next time, instead of pulling crap out of your ass, after consuming too much CNN. They knew zero about what was going on on the ground in Los Angeles at the time.
Just like you.
No way are cops sophistiticated enough to pull off a 'silent strike' county wide, much less at the large LAPD, nor weird LBPD .. a 'catch and release' would never work in the highly supervised structure of most PD's .. are you talking about the driving by and waving at civilians little revolt .. hell, CJ during this so called strike period period was full to the rafters with Brothers, which is logical with the high crime ghetto culture .. who was being released, those drinking and pissing on the sidewalk .. most of the cop's talking this trash about a silent strike was all for their own consumption and if the truth be known they were all running scared of their supervisors .. too many cop's are lazy anyway, and happy just to answer calls

Note in every country that has a weak civil service - Mexico, Russia, Laos, Philippines, etc., you have to pay off everyone to get anything done.

Currently your avg government worker is more educated that your avg private worker (statistically speaking). Wait until no one wants those jobs! See the types it will attract; you think you have something to complain about now!

In Japan the police are respected, the civil service is respected....in Mexico...

Really, we have no excuse - these Latin American countries are right there! We can see what is going on.

I agree. Politicians of many foreign nations are far less sophisticated than are our own more "educated" politicians. Many of those poorly educated - but far more honest and above board - politicians and their civil servants openly take bribes, whereas our own more sophisticated politicians are paid to "give speeches" or are given "advances" to write books after a lifetime of "service". In addition, rather than leaving it up to chance, our own more clever politicians impose Government judge enforced legislation designed to launder money "by force of law".

An example of this are the workman comp laws. Those laws are designed to funnel money into Government insurance schemes and to channel money to Government licensed companies who pay the workman comp insurance tax. Because Government judges can use the law to impoverish homeowners, for example, who hire non Government licensed workmen who might feign on-the-job injury, those companies can set "labor" charges at multiple times their true competitive worth.

I totally agree that "Civil Service" was a GREAT system. We should never have been stupid and self destructive enough to replace Civil Service with Public Employee Unions.

That's why it's called "civil service." You're not SUPPOSED to make salaries aligned with the private sector, you selfish two-bit bums! Most of you lack the talent to function in the private sector anyway! That's why you pad your own nest with taxpayer money and make it almost impossible to fire you effing losers.

You got it wrong, stupid. The question "could it happen here" implies not only a potential tsunami, but it's outcome. The outcome in long beach would be destruction, looting, rape, and murder, because that's what blacks do when disaster strikes, with no exceptions. If you can come up with and exception, please do share. Otherwise keep your stupidity to yourself.

At least you don't disagree that unparented, unassimilating minorities are the kiss of death for any civilized American Community.

We all own the dishonor of electing left wing lunatics to determine Long Beach's quality of life.

Long Beach citizens really proved too stupid to handle self government and everything has gone downhill as a direct result.
Have you ever heard of "laura richardson'. I rest my case.

Why don't you look up statics about which race KILLS children of their partners most often? Or are arrested in domestic assaults? How about which race is more likely to rape? Black teenagers aren't getting knocked up by white ADULT males on a regular basis( yes, I"m saying black males ARE disproportionately child molesters!), Hispanics too. Whites don't make up a HUGE disproportionate amount of welfare mothers, prisoners, gang members or career criminals, either. I could go on, but I think I made my point...

Yes. Once the politicians and the Government judges effectively ended civil service and replaced it with Affirmative Action programs, a noticeable decline in Government "services" was one result. It enabled those with doubtful qualifications, knowledge, ability, and interest to give away the hard working taxpayer store.(so to speak)

Word of advice. Don't sink to their level, it only serves to make you look bad. If you reply back, do so with facts and your own intelligence. Not trying to be rude, but if you sink to their level, how long until you wallow in it yourself?

Yes. Since the revolution, the 60s 70s revolutionaries who came into Governmental power created many myths to justify, rationalize, and otherwise to ignore or to excuse violent behavior that is uniquely endemic among the "Blacks". It's often a matter of "blaming Whitey", because Government usually finds worker ("middle") class Whites to be the most convenient scapegoat.

For example, although "Blacks" commit far more serial murders than would be expected from the proportion of "Blacks" in the population, Government revolutionaries created the myth that serial murder was far more common among the White population than among the "Black" population.

An excellent study dispelling this myth, a myth that was devised by revolutionary politicians, and thereafter, which was promoted by the revolutionary Government controlled "news", was made by Anthony Walsh of Boise (Idaho) State University". His study was published in the November 2005 issue of "Homicide Studies". You may access this link to read the entire article.

Blacks are a mess right now, and in the foreseeable future. Too many can't assimilate into civilized society. Too many upchuck babies they neither want, or can afford, with no fathers, and the resentful grandma's usually winding up raising them. The only successful assimilation too many have achieved is into our federal penitentiaries.
If there's an earthquake disaster, with resources becoming scarce, bet on brand new Rodney King riots, with police in hiding--again.

Many Californians are afraid to face the revelation that the Democrats sold their Party to the Pub Emp Unions in other States too.

Most thought that our State's Democrats were the ONLY State Democrats who were stupid and self destructive enough to allow it.
