If, as Schori claims, it's TEC's responsibility to help heal the world, shouldn't that healing start within its own denomination?

Right on the money, Joe! I thought the job of the church is to proclaim the forgiveness of sins through Jesus' death and resurrection.

If Schori has "the cure," it is amazing 1.5 million members have fled TEC.

These faithful Christians who have been smart enough to leave TEC have rightly come to realize the Schori's cure is worse that the world's sickness.

And she's only half-way thru her tenure as PB of TEC.

Schori's cure is the sickness itself.

She is probably working on a way to stay PB for life. Watch for a resolution that will amend the canons. Would it surprise you?

She is doing a great job!

The fact that so many of her detractors are becoming more and more shrill in their accusations and complaints is an excellent testimony to her increasing effectiveness.

We in TEC have no doubt that the second five years of her tenure will yield consistent gains for the soundness of the future of our Church in discipleship to Christ Jesus.

More Power and Light to her ministry and Thanks Be to God!

We really understand that the alter is Gods table, she said. And going out and sharing what we know about Gods love with the community and the people we encounter that sending is what mission means. Love our neighbors and help heal Gods world.

I can certainly see why for the first time you didn't quote the article.

One wonders about your obsessions with individuals like Bishop Spong and our Presiding Bishop. If we were to judge LCMS by you then that would be unjust to the actual Christians that are members of your Synod. Thank God I have known members of LCMS that were not idol worshipers like you!

... while I wonder why you choose to deliberately ignore their heterodoxy.

Unless, of course, you can't tell orthodoxy from heterodoxy.

How about more members of the Episcopal Church speaking out against abortion, watching the DVD Maafa 21, exploring the web-site of Life Dynamics Incorporated and investigating whether or not there is a link between racism and the killing of unborn children!?

How about more members of TEC trying to lead others to the salvation that only Christ can offer, rather than trying to win a beauty contest judged by the world as opposed to the Word. Over two hundred years of tradition is turning into pure shame. My congregation is traditional and holds fast to orthodoxy, but I am concerned with how long me and my family can remain in what is currently led by an apostate pseudo bishop that obviously can't understand scripture, tradition or reason, or has deliberately chosen to ignore it.

We bring Christ Jesus to people around the world every day in TEC.

Thanks be to the Triune God!

I will agree that some do, but I'm concerned with exactly which Christ Jesus the others are promoting. The Bible tells us to look out for those that call evil good -- and that's exactly what the leadership of TEC has been doing for years. It's time to grow and call sin sin and stop trying to please the world. This is heaven and hell we are talking about folks, not some little game. TEC must repent and return to orthodoxy.

Would that be the "orthodoxy" of systemic hypocrisy and bigotry?

Would that be the "orthodoxy" of teaching little children to believe that they are unwelcome to God and Christ?

Would that be the "orthodoxy" of biblical cherry-picking to support your side of heresy versus biblical cherry-picking to support their side of heresy?

Would that be the "orthodoxy" of seeking Christian Communion with Christians of other denominations or the "orthodoxy" of finding fault with Christians of other denominations who those who call themselves "orthodox" regard as "unorthodox?"

Or would that be some form of heretical, unorthodox belief and behavior that was demonstrated by the followers of Christ Jesus?

That only applies to Bishop Spong's theses.

Ladies and gentlemen we have yet another contender for the title of 'You Holiness': CLA, Joe and CLA. This is getting as bad as the Avignon Papacy period!

THE AVIGNON PAPACY

http://www.christianchronicler.com/history1/a...

Urban hated French domination. He spent his early church service in bureaucratic positions where he grew suspicious of everyone. As Pope he was tyrannical. Rather than seeking good relations with French Cardinals, he accused them of greed, immorality, simony or neglect of office. His charges were unquestionably accurate but his methodology was vicious. Throughout the summer of 1378, things worsened until the French Cardinals left Rome and reassembled in Anagni. They declared Urban's election invalid because of Roman duress. They declared the papal chair empty and appointed a Frenchman, Clement VII, as Pope. They returned to Avignon with their new "Pope." Urban dismissed all French Cardinals and replaced them with Italians.

Europe then began choosing sides. Poland, Hungary, Germany, England, most of Italy, and the Scandinavian countries sided with Rome. France, Scotland, Spain, southern Italy, and France sided with Avignon. Marking the lowest point of the papacy, this schism lasted over 40 years and caused tremendous confusion in Europe. Today the Catholic Church recognizes Urban VI as the true pope and Clement VII as an anti-Pope.
