The University of Colorado's Sea Level Research Group just published the 2013 Release #1 of their Global Mean Sea Level Time Series. As it turns out, these are on the net all the way back to 2011 Release #1. So I downloaded all nine of them
2012 release #1 has 628 entries up to January of 2011 so I had Excel's slope function calculate the rate of sea level rise for that time series of 628 entries across all nine releases.
What I found is that the rate of sea level rise has been bumped up twice since then, once in 2011 and the the latest in the current release. Here's the graph to illustrate the point:
http://oi45.tinypic.com/2vmenpv.jpg
Coupled with the GIA increase of 0.3 mm/yr that was made prior to these nine releases the rate of sea level rise has been bumped up 0.43 mm/yr in the last few years.
This sort of thing has been going on more or less regularly and it seems to go only one. way.

Well, professor Excel, it looks like it's either a gigantic Liberal conspiracy, or sea level really is rising.

And you think topix doesn’t know what you publish? Attacks on me won't delete or erase what you are and what you do. You should stop making an ASSumption of your---self before you know the facts. Do contact topix to satisfy your accusations of the reprint BS your posting of what I said. You are a dumbASSumption of your---self again.

On a flat level surface they don't.

Sounds like you never heard about a force called gravity.
And yeah, Newton knew all about it.
LOL. you are so clueless.
Yes, Newton did and you seem to not know about gravity. Without gravity there would be no friction between a glacier and the rock it rests on.

Also insults are a sign of someone who is loosing an argument.

The movement of ice under its own weight is what we call a "fact". This is because we can observe it happening.

Sea level is rising, but it isn't rising like your side of the coin wants it to. Tell me why they need to cook the books. Tell me that they aren't cooking the books but why it looks like they do.

First, if they were cooking the books why would they need to do it via a correction, huh?

Second, the BEST evidence is not from sea level rising.

We have something called satellites that are measuring the glacier and ice cap loss.

Surveying on the ground shows the same.

The USGS has been monitoring the mass balance of three glaciers in the Pacific Northwest and in Alaska for nearly 50 years. This mass balance record is now sufficient to interpret glacier responses to short- and long-term climate changes in the Pacific Northwest, the Alaska Coast, and the Alaska interior. What have we learned so far?

*All three glaciers have lost mass since USGS monitoring began more than four decades ago.

*Mass loss has accelerated during the last 15 years, coincident with the highest melt years on record.

*Mass balance of the coastal South Cascade and Wolverine Glaciers correlate well with the PDO during the first few decades of the period of record, showing the effects of ocean-condition periodicity on glacier health.

*This correlation has weakened during the last two decades, as global average temperature has increased.

*Mass turnover has increased throughout monitoring and the trend of increase has become stronger during the last two decades.

Noticed many of her posts are from Climate Depot.

Climate Depot is run by Marc Moreno - the former Inhofe staffer who was behind the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth attacks on Kerry? The one who was a producer on Rush Limbaugh's show from 92-96? He's a paid lobbyist and a hack.

No wonder.

You're right, my guy didn't win the election, but that doesn't say anything about why it looks like in the world of climate data that the books are being cooked.
