There are 3 comments on the ScienceBlogs story from Dec 18, 2010, titled The Australian's War on Science 55: Michael Asten [Deltoid]. In it, ScienceBlogs reports that:

Michael Asten misrepresents two scientific papers to make it look like sea level rise is much less than projected.

So I take it the bitch here is that a "climate scientist" is rejecting a PROGNOSTICATION by another "climate scientist" which is based on a THEORETICAL MATHMATICAL MODEL (one of many), that supposes sea levels MIGHT rise over a given number of years.

You call that science?

Actually a THEORETICAL MATHMATICAL MODEL is the definition of science. While there are many models, the vast majority ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_climate_m... ) show that the globe will warm significantly (by at least 3 degrees Celcius) by 2100. Taking existing papers and bending them to your purpose is NOT science. It shows a bias to get desired results as opposed to letting the numbers speak for themselves.

Mathematical models are no longer theoretical when they produce consistent repeatable results. Then they become empirical. Try and remember that next time you board an airliner or cross a bridge. There's no such thing as a contemporary empirical climate model, nothing that's proven consistent and repeatable. That's why academics around the world promoting this hoodoo are caught cooking the books; that's why even the language of "global warming" changes to suit prevailing trendiness. Now it's "climate change".

Tell me, what do you think of meteorologist John Coleman (founder of The Weather Channel) going public in 2007 calling "global warming" the "greatest scam in history"? Since then, Coleman has amassed more than 2000 signatures to a petition that exposes the garbage data and scamming of "global warming" promoters. All of the signers of Coleman's petition, by the way, are REAL climate scientists, not larcenous UN bureaucrats or know-nothing academics. Coleman's ultimate objective is to bring Al Gore to court and to hold him accountable for promoting one of the greatest scams in history.
