First this is a very biased piece and full of national enquirer type deceptive statements. First of all isn't it possible that all the platforms in Alabama and Mississippi would still be in this "current?" Surprisingly enough there has never been an incident or if there has, Florida hardly noticed! Second, what in the world is 100% percent full proof? In comparison the airline industry is not as safe as the measures taken by these companies to prevent spills. In other words your more likely to have a plane crash than have an oil spill. The spills from Katrina were not caused by the platforms they were from the departing pipelines. For every recordable spill their has to be countermeasures to clean it and they are extensive. Must be why we never heard much about this either. The chances for spills are highly remote since platforms do not store oil....duh! One of the most important things to remember in all of this is that there is more gas than oil which is what will primarily be recovered which makes it impossible to have a spill. Finally, as for the "toxic" condensate....get your facts straight, condensate is a very high grade of light oil or liquified gas that looks like water and needs little refining, if it is spilled it will more than likely evaporate into the air before it has a chance to reach shore.
