I am absolutely shocked by the comments of those who think that global warming isn't real, or isn't an issue!!! What? Where have these folks been?

Global warming is an issue. It is really happening. Humans have created incredible damage to the earth, and are continuing to do so. We drill for fossil fuels (which are NOT supposed to be removed from the earth), mine for coal and burn those things. All of that causes problems for the planet. In addition, we are chopping down trees, which provide us and everything else with the oxygen we need to survive.

Jacques Cousteau once said that humankind had done more damage to the earth in 100 years than it had during all of history. It's true. I doubt there are any naysayers out there who are qualified to dispute Cousteau. So, naysayers, what have YOU done lately?

If you are ignorant of the whole global warming issue, read up about it. The thing is, you need to read research that is done by independent scientists, not online from some weird ultra right-wing organization. Do not trust Fox News for scientific information. Do not trust information from scientists employed in the oil business. For goodness sake, Gloucester Point is home to some of the greatest minds in the state, at VIMS. Go ask some of those scientists. Read, people! Don't just listen to Fox News. Jeez.

I think that part of the issue is the unwillingness of some people to separate environmental issues from politics or religion. I gotta tell you, I'll always vote for those who consider the environment first. I also never, ever vote based on religion.

Jacques Cousteau was a very nice guy, good at everything he did, from undersea exploration, film making, science etc.
He and his team left a trail of emissions behind them, almost big as Fat Al Gore's, but not quite.
And all in the name of science, of course, nothing to do with fame and fortune.

Where have we been?
Questioning the politics of the new "enviro-science", that's what.
keep drinking the Kool-Aid, buying into the political blather that MAN caused the almost insignificant natural shift in temperatures as measured by "special" tools.
You know the one's that were just developed, so you can't compare their measurements to historical data.

Is climate change a hoax or is it true?
What sort of stupid question is that?
Climate has never stopped changing since Earth first aquired a climate.

If you think that global warming isn't happening, you're an idiot and know zero about science. The prime reason for global warming is the burning of fossil fuels, which results in CO2, which is altering the temperature of the earth. The seas and oceans absorb some of the CO2, which is also responsible for the higher acidity of the oceans, harming coral reefs.

Plants are responsible for the provision of 100% of our oxygen, as they take some of the CO2 and turn it into nutrients for themselves and oxygen, which we breathe. Another problem, though, is that we're burning more fossil fuels than we ever have, and cutting down the one thing that gives us somewhat cleaner air to breathe.

So stop listening to politicians, religious freaks and Fox News and start learning something. Sign up for a Biology 101 class at your local community college.
